I think he already came up with an epic Superman theme for Man of Steel. I have it in my head all the time.

Oh definately. I thought his Superman theme was very well done.
However in terms of trailer music , i LOVE LOVE LOVE "Journey to the Line" which was used in the COMIC CON trailer.
For me the words of Jor-El resonate so much more with that song . I still get emotional watching that trailer. Such a powerful combination...

OK, im not trolling. Just want to point that out first, before somebody starts taking offence to nothing.

But i want to point out that im losing faith in this project. For those who have discussed this movie with me (in this thread mainly), you know that i was excited, somewhat, by BvS. Im definitely seeing this opening night and i might get really into it once the trailers start coming out. If Batman is dark and looks great, im in.

But it's a LONG ways off and im getting impatient. I just heard the news about Zimmer and it's very lazy to me. I want a clean break from Nolan's trilogy. I dont want to feel like they're doing a soft reboot with a new cast since they couldnt sign Bale to a 50 million deal. Bringing Zimmer back will inevitably bring back musical comparisons. I know Hans' style well, and there will be too many similarities.

Also, im getting nervous about the acting.

Gadot will look great but i still dont think she can act. The girl from Wolverine wasn't very good at all. I love Adams and Irons but i noticed that Amy's acting was brought down a couple of levels in MOS probably due to her surroundings or who she was working with. I hope that doesn't happen to Irons.

Eisenberg STILL annoys the crap out of me and i find him overrated.

Affleck impresses me more with his own movies and im not too worried because he has the look down. But who am i kidding? His performances in The Town or Argo are better than what he normally does, but what are my standards for a Affleck performance? Am i just being nice? I just saw the Gone Girl trailer and he looks very mediocre. It just reminded me of how boring of an actor he is. Even if i do like the guy in interviews and find him hilarious.

I want it to be as good as Winter Soldier but i just dont know if it will..

The only thing it has to be is better than the previous film in the series which is MOS. If it's better and it makes a boat load of money (yes to both) we'll get a Justice league film.

Yeah you're right. But i guess i have high expectations.

Now that the casting announcements have settled in, I'm not as concerned anymore. Gadot is the only one that truly worries me, but I'll wait and see on her.

Holly Hunter is actually playing Brainiac.

If you mean Brainiac 8 (a.k.a. Indigo), then I like this idea:

She'll kick ass and look good. She may even surprise us with her acting. But i doubt it. She's not an experienced actor and she's working with a director like Snyder, who may be great at visuals, and has a good energy on set, but what has he ever done for actors? History has shown that even the amazing actors he's directed, are usually a notch lower with their performances in his movies. Shannon, Crowe, Adams were all solid in MOS but on par with what they can normally do? No.

That's what worries me about Gadot and Affleck.

I don't think bringing Zimmer back is lazy...he did the score for Man of Steel...that's why he is brought back not because he did the Nolan series

If Gal is training and working out and learning fighting styles, I highly doubt WW will be a mere cameo.

her role will probably be akin to Black Widow's role in IM2.

Im not saying that. Im saying they're bringing him back to also do the new Batman theme. But if you know Zimmer's style, you know he will subconsciously bring back similar sounds. He's afraid of doing this himself. I think it's stupid of Zack to ask him to supply a new Batman theme. Superman? Absolutely. But get a new composer for Bats.

it will be interesting to see how different his new Batman theme will be compared to the Nolan films.

and has that ever happened before? where the same composer wrote the themes for 2 different versions of the same character?

Zimmer's work on MOS is terrific; I love it as much as his work for Rises. It would be an injustice for him not to return. His music welcomed in the Batman paradigm we needed; why shouldn't he supply music for when the two icons meet?

I would like to think hans was brought back for continuity purposes and also since he is arguably the best in the business. Which is something you would want for a project of this magnitude.

Very interesting...I don't think so actually (saying without doing any real research). I do like Zimmer a lot, but I'd want to see what some new blood could do with it. However, it does make sense to stick with the same overall feel musically of MoS.

I think you're way off here.

If anything, the challenge for Zimmer to not repeat himself is probably one of the main reasons he'd sign on for this. He's not going to subconciously bring back similar sounds for a new Batman theme. The man's a total professional and somewhat of a musical genius. He's far from a "one trick pony". He wouldn't sign on if he didn't feel that he had something compelling and unique to bring to the table.

Composing music for a film score is an organic process. A composer just doesn't come up with a simple theme which is then slapped onto a film. The score will depend on the look, feel, tone, and story of this new film. Since this will most likely be a Batman/Superman film unlike anything we've seen before, the score will most certainly reflect that.

I'm very excited to see what he comes up with for this.

Gadot is pretty underrated.

As a big fan of the Fast and Furious films (of which she has appeared in 3), I think she's pretty good, and has only improved over the years.

I'm optimistic about Gadot, but she didn't do hardly any acting in the Fast movies, especally Fast Five. I have yet to see much acting from her. However, Snyder movies tend to be well cast overall, so they must have seen something in her.

Really I can't remember her form the fourth one. Oh well the Fast and the Furious franchise doesn't require acting. Just cars, girls and action. :funny:

I've seen all the Fast and Furious films and I don't remember at any point Gal Gadot being memorable apart from just being eye candy. She's a wooden actress... similar to January Jones in a way. I fear Gal is going be DC's version of Emma Frost from First Class (maybe worse?). :csad:

well, I find myself more interested to see how Gal/WW is portrayed, since WW is an unknown entity when it comes to the big screen.

to be fair the Fast and Furious movie aren't a good showcase of acting

Neither are some superhero films...

Yeah, she wasn't exactly challanged as an actress with her role in that series. I have a strong feeling she'll impress us with what she does here.
