All this nitpicking over just the title, I can only imagine what's to come.
Meanwhile I saw Dawn of Justice as the #1 trending thing on twitter a few moments ago.
Pretty much how things have been going.

The crazy thing is just how many films have these sorts of titles only now it's the mother of all talking points. From avengers to the apes to the TF and star trek movies..As with all things, the buck really does stop with WB/DC.
More truth from Marvin. Everything WB/DC does will be endlessly nitpicked.

Yeah, he's a murderor!! BATMAN no BreAK rulE like Dat...

:o

He may have killed Zod, but it doesn't mean he's going to kill again.

You mean he saved Earth from the genocidal maniac? What about the end of MoS implied he'd be a villain?

The title sounds video-gamey but so does

Avengers : Age of Ultron.

I don't see Marvel fans overreacting to it.

lol
Whatever, Mr. T
I dislike the news that's come out about this film, and I'm no concern troll
if that makes me a stereotypical nerd (as opposed to the "i love anything" crowd that inhabits these bat- and super-boards) then so be it

You disliked the batsuit? Would like to hear your opinion on the matter but in the batsuit thread. And the Mr.T smiley is the closest thing to a Sam Jackson smiley on here. C.Lee still needs to get back to me on that subject.

To put the record straight, I'm not shocked this is a "V" or "VS" in the slightest. We all knew it was going to be that, but regardless of who's name came first, I just don't like a "VS" in the title.

Dawn of Justice is awesome, I love that but that damn versus title I always didn't like and to see it official with Batman's name first got the reaction out of me to the point where I knew would feed the trolls. You only get one reaction and unfortunately, mine was what it was. It has no barring on how I think the movie will go. That has never changed REGARDLESS of the title. I think this movie is going to be incredible and to see Supes/Bats on the bigscreen together will be a sight I'll remember forever. My feelings on that will never change, EVER, but seeing the "VS" title was always tacky to me.

haha I'll petition him for ya too
and the suit, yeah, I'll take it over there

Okay...............just had a thread closed........DONT UNDERSTAND WHY!

BUT since this is SUPPOSE to be the OPEN DISCUSSION thread, maybe we can discuss this here???

Notice how it seems that every update of this movie is an article about Batman?

Like this new article:

http://moviepilot.com/posts/2014/04/...xternal,manual

I think DC is still not confident in the Man of Steel......

What's the Batsuit gonna look like....?

Is Affleck the right guy?

And now this:

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...ticle&id=52953

Superman's "so-called" sequel is called :

"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice"

Batman gets "first billing?"

Wow!! What a kick in the teeth for Supey.

What is the big issue of talking about this? How does Batman get first in the title, when it's suppose to be Superman's movie...?

Unless this is simply just a Batman reboot??
I just think it's because Batman is the new character. If it were Supes coming into Affleck's 2nd film it might be different. Although you also have that Affleck is much more well known than Cavill was at that time (or even now). I don't mind if Batman gets the focus for this one but it needs to be 50/50 for good after this film. And WW needs to get a dose of marketing too. This is her all time film debut.

I guess this is a "no press is bad press" situation?

I wonder if this sort of title might make for stronger competition in the face of that other film that is thinking about opening on the same date.

The title sounds video-gamey but so does

Avengers : Age of Ultron.

I don't see Marvel fans overreacting to it.

Most of the negative reactions I've seen are directed at the first part, not Dawn of Justice.

The "lawsuit" joke being the most repeated.

This stopped being a superman sequel the moment batman was announced to be in it. Did some expect that the most popular superhero in world would be reduced to be some side/supporting character?

The "VS" will now remind me of this:

You mean he saved Earth from the genocidal maniac? What about the end of MoS implied he'd be a villain?

Now be fair. You know as well as I that Superman could have explored other options, like sending Zod to his room without supper, or giving him a firm scolding and making him stand in the corner. :o

I like it as well. I really liked the tournament at Evo last year as well.
I hope the Injustice sequel is somehow linked in with these films. The Arkham Knight gameplay trailer debuted today alongside the BVS DoJ title so maybe they have a wider plan.

Also I never saw any high level Injustice tournament play. Could be interesting.

Are you this incredibly dense to not know why your thread was closed? Yes this is supposed to be an open discussion, but your post is by far the worst post I have ever read in my 1 year of being at SHH. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. You picked out articles that were at best speculation and nitpicking about certain details, rather than picking out story points in the movie...not to mention, you conveniently disregarded the Man of Steel cast returning for this movie. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read your so-called analysis. I award you no praise, and may God have mercy on your soul.

That could definitely be part of the intention. In that case, I think it works.

I see what you did there.

Batman v Superman and Superman v. Batman aren't the same to me.

Batman v. Superman sounds like Batman is going to confront Superman. Batman is the challenger. So I would think that Superman fans would want the title in this order.

Superman v. Batman makes it seem like Superman is challenging Batman where Superman is the antagonist.

So what should happen is no one should express their feelings on the matter.
I didn't see that people shouldn't express their feelings but plenty of comicbook films have had bad titles but of course you have people pretending this is the first one.

The people that care enough to complain will be watching is actually the situation. The more awareness the film gets the bigger the event. All they have do no now is simply not suck.

Can't remember the last time a film title announcement ended up trending...well not since BvS. But that title came with implications. I imagine the shareholders are grinning over at WB.

The StarWars/Avatar titles might have similar results, though I can't imagine the announcement of the titles themselves will elicit such a thing. Who knows.
