BvS All Things Superman and Batman: An Open Discussion - Part 83

Why do you care if Jmc is looking forward to BvS? I mean no one could convince me to look forward to The Amazing Spider-Man 3 after that second film no matter how pretty the footage was. Nobody could convince me to be super excited for Thor 3 either, it's just the way things go when you weren't crazy about the predecessors.

That's probably true, I couldn't be any less excited for Cap2 or the likes of TDK coming out of the prior films. I've learned to have an open mind.

Now that's a much more realistic manip and probably close to what we'll get in the movie without all of the PS filters.

I'm just now bleaching my eyes of that horrible manip from earlier.

I think it's just pretty much jokes right now...many would love for him to join the Snyder cult, but it seems like good fun for the most part.

I'll be honest, I've been an advocate of separate universes for each character but the notion of a live action team up film does excite me because I'm a Batman guy and by extension a DC guy, but it will actually hurt a lot if BvS doesn't pan out, more than MoS and maybe even more than what TDKR hurt because it encompasses 3 of my favourite characters.

Do you believe in goddesses?

Would I have loved this even more if she was looking into the camera? I don't know.

I hope we get more of Superman inspiring civilians to help save the day.

I really liked that he had to work with the military to save the world. It was a combined effort, but I do feel this one should make it more explicit that he is here to help us solve our own problems, rather than be the one solving them.

She looks to be in a battle.

I would hope she is focused on the enemy and not breaking the 4th wall by looking at the camera lol.

The remastered WW pic looks a lot better; still there are so many unanswered questions. Where have the Amazons been all this time? Why now, for Wonder Woman? Is she there for a special reason? Does she have special powers granted by the Gods, such as flight? Will the lasso glow when she uses it? Will she advocate peace or be a hardened warrior?

I wonder if there's any significance in the different motifs that are presented in each of the trinity's solo pictures. With Batman, it's "Smoke"....Superman, it's "Rain"....and Wonder Woman, it's "fire".

That's no doubt true, I'm just thinking of the trend with the superman 'posters'. And comic book covers in general(in my memory).

I only just noticed that she does in fact have the lasso

As if we didn't already have a reason to dislike Jett, he's now advancing the claim that the symbol on Wonder Woman's tiara is Kryptonian in origin. Here we go again..

O that footage. I f***ing love Snyder.

People have been preaching his word since 2006. I ain't converted yet and it's unlikely I will be in 2 years time.

I'm with jmc on this one. I mean, it's exciting that we're getting a live action of the trinity now, the pictures are eliciting some sort of giddy-ness inside me and as a DC fan, I want that, but the team behind the making of these films just doesn't inspire confidence in me; plus, Marvel has beaten DC in terms of influence on pop culture, on the general public. Back when the Avengers wasn't in public's consciousness, "Justice League" was the term used to describe a coming-together of certain things or people, now it's "The Avengers".

I'm not going into the same old tired "Marvel vs. DC" territory here as I like most of the Marvel films, even those who are considered "not good" films by hardcore fans like Thor 2 and Iron Man 3; to me they are fun films that I would sit down and look at whenever they are playing on a TV channel. It's just that I've grown with DC Characters, they are much closer to me and of course I want good things to happen with their films and I want other people to enjoy them the way I enjoy them. But, from the looks of it, it's not happening, as people are even calling them "B-Team Avengers". :csad:

Because they haven't seen the film yet. These things have a remarkable way of turning around. Look at how the reactions to Batfleck and WonderGal have done a complete 180.

As beautiful as she looks she hasn't won everyone over. Part of the problem for me is Snyder can nail visuals, that's the trojan horse and why I and many others haven't given this film a free pass.
