That's ********. He did Thor 1 in 2011 then did Ghost Rider 2 in 2012.

He wasn't playing a major hero. Anyway, it was still Marvel so I guess they thought it was OK.

Also Jamie was in the running for Wonder Woman.

And supposedly Marvel wouldn't let her play WW.

He plays what the 6th most important character in the Thor films? Hell didn't some guy from Cap 2 get cast for BvS?

There's your answer.

Again I doubt Marvel Studios gives a ****. I doubt Jamie not being Wonder Woman had to do with her being at Marvel Studios if she talked to DC and WB about Wonder Woman. Maybe one reason is Sif could be seen as a similar character to Wonder Woman but if so, Idris's character in Thor is probably nothing like John Stewart.

Based on what? That's the first time I've heard about this.

I read it somewhere :o not saying that's "the" reason but I guess some people thought about the possibility.

I really doubt that's the case. Was she even approached for Wonder Woman in the first place. I know there were rumours but was it confirmed?

Jamie was never confirmed to be in the running for WW. She said she met for a role, but that role could have just as easily been Tao's role. The biggest indication that she was up for WW was John Campea's "I know something you don't know!!!" game.

Still I see no reason why he can't be GL. It's not like Idris's role in the Thor films are major considering you never see him in the marketing.

Do you think people would be angry if Batman at the start of the movie is a different Batman due to maybe his older more cynical nature but changes due to his interaction with Superman?
I feel like a lot of fans get mad if the characters aren't exactly dead set versions of their comic selves from beginning to end.
Look how they reacted to a young Superman just starting out.

If they veer too far from what people expect, sure that's a risk. Even more so for a new cinematic universe because the movie depends on people loving what they are seeing and if not, well that will be addressed when the movie opens in 2016.

Didn't like the scene Supes floated out of Zod's ship.

Yep, the music in that moment alone didn't help either. I was like, really? The scene was suppose to be inspiring and uplifting but found it cheesy and eye rolling. Now the scene where he destroys the world engine was beyond EPIC!

Its one scene, among many in MOS, that would have benefited from tighter editing.

Yah, the World Engine stuff is pretty great.

The World Engine combined with the scene where Perry and Lombard were trying to save Jenny was one of my favorite parts of Man of Steel.

Sometimes I look at Man of Steel. I think of how much hype when into it. I remember when they revealed the Superman S, the villain would be Zod, the Superman suit, and all the trailers and posters.

Then I see the film and I am like "am I being punked?"

There was tremendous hype for MOS but ultimately it was let down by the basics; some average to poor performances in the acting dept, weak story and poor editing. I expect BvS to be much of the same in terms of how it will be hyped, but I think this time will be different. That WB will be looking to shore up the weaker elements this time around.

Not it wasn't the editing that was my problem. It was the fact that Cavill stuck his arms out like Jesus on the cross and fell backwards out of a spaceship and then the music. Ugh I dont really mind the Jesus imagery when it's done right. E.G when Spiderman stops the train in SM2 and when the people where carrying him over. It was emotional and was done right.

Yah, the World Engine stuff is pretty great.

Was on the edge of my seat. What would have been more EPIC was to stick in the Jor-El or Pa Kent quote in there.:woot:

It was well done imo. You felt the stakes were high there. Just didn't like the tenticle fight before it.
