I think the goal for them is to create a small screen Justice League.
I understand.
And I think this is one Justice League show I will look for, though it will not have either Batman or Superman. It will be like Justice League International/Europe, and I love those comic series.

DCCU

Man of Steel
Batman v Superman
Justice League
Shazam
Sandman
Suicide Squad
Aquaman
Wonder Woman
Batman reboot
Man of Steel sequel
Justice League sequel

DCTVU

Arrow
Gotham
The Flash
Constantine
Supergirl
Titans
Lucifer
Green Lantern

I'm interested in seeing how they can pull Lanterns feats on TV budget.

Now I'm imagining how this Batman's fighting techniques will be like.

I've always wanted the flash on the big screen precisely because of the budget issue, but the cgi didn't look half bad for a pilot. not so sure how they'd be able to do it with gl though.

I loved the old JLI/Europe series. Especially the humor and revolving line-up.

It'd be in the same style as Farscape or Star Trek TNG. Much of the show could be set on board a ship like in Green Lantern TAS. It'd be tough to pull off, but if approached like Farscape or Star Trek were, it could work.

Exactly, that was my concern about the TV instead of movie.
But I'm enjoying what we got so far.

I've only seen the trailer but the costume and CGI are both convincing. Should mean that it will be no problem making a Flash for the big screen look good. If this had been the film version I don't think I would have been disappointed.

I thought the CGI was average at best in the first episode. The color of the costume is way too dark too. I know its one of the things DC loves to do with their costumes for the moment, but I've always liked the brighter colors when it comes to the Flash. In terms of story/acting, its more than passable and has some good elements, but a lot depends on how it develops the characters and what kind of momentum the series can gain moving forward.

When it comes to superhero movies, history is littered with many bad movies. I was reading a superhero magazine which featured pretty much all of them, and it made for interesting reading looking through the various movies over the decades.

Yes indeed. But that was not my point. (Nor yours when you started that conversation)

Will have to judge the CGI properly when it airs in the UK later this month. I like the dark shade of colour of the suit, although not to say lighter wouldn't work. I also prefer the darker blue of Cap's costume on TWS and what he'll have for AoU compared to the light blue of Avengers and also the darker concept colours of Vision for eg.

I thought the CGI in the Flash pilot was pretty good. If you are expecting movie quality CGI, you'll probably be disappointed but hell... it at least looked better than the CGI in some CBMs (Green Lantern, some of Thor: TDW). Regardless of all that though, what really made it work for me were the actors, the story and the nice little nods to the comics. I'm sure the dialogue Nazis are hopping all over it ("OMFG Iris mentioned twerking! How dare something as sacred as a superhero TV show acknowledge pop culture exists! Worst show EVAR!"), but I found it to be a fun and exhilarating show. Gustin in particular is just ****ing great. Can't wait for next week.

Not all CGI work in Green Lantern was awful, it was just not consistently good throughout the movie, but sometimes it looked good.

Yeah, I do agree with that. For all the criticism the GL CGI suit takes, in some scenes it looked really cool. It's just that in other parts, it really didn't.

The suit was the least of my gripes with that, it was everything else cgi that was terrible

Haha yeah the diarrhea cloud and Hector might have been the most unpleasant images in a superhero film ever.

I understand.

The should be called The Outsiders. It's the perfect name for a team of B-list characters.

It's still possible, we have RR playing Deadpool again.

Was Black Scorpion on that list? Now THAT was a bad super-hero movie (as well as it's sequel and subsequent TV show!), quite possibly the worst super-hero movie I've ever seen

Yeah, but as bad as XO: Wolverine was, it wasn't a massive financial bomb that the studios needed to distance themselves from.

Man...freakin' Mark Strong was Sinestro.
Just fantastic.

They should bring him back if we ever get another live action Green Lantern movie. He was perfectly cast for that role.

Sinestro could appear in a non Green Lantern movie, like Justice League.

Mark Strong should be given another chance.
