I'm not sure that that isn't just pr from wb and the lot. I know Nolan wanted ben to direct man of steel, and ben passed cause he didn't think he hd the skillset specific to making a superman film. then he was rumored for JL, which turned out to be getting cast as bats for BvS.

I've read they were looking at Gosling but Gosling isn't partial to the type of contracts these films entail, I.E. more than one. We also heard from Brolin and zack that they spoke about the role. if Diane Lane wasn't martha Kent (given that she's Brolin's ex-wife, who he's had a bad history with) i think Brolin would be bats right now and Ben would be slated to direct JL if he wanted too.

He absolutely was. When the Justice League movie was still floating about, there was a strong rumor about WB approaching him to direct and starring (in a supporting role) as Batman.

A couple weeks later Affleck even lightly confirmed he had meetings with WB but didn't come up with an agreement. This was a little prior to when the MOS production got rolling with Snyder.

At the end of the day Superman fans, this film is still about Kal. It ain't about Batman. Everything that happens in this film is about Kal's arrival and what happened in MAN OF STEEL. It's still a Superman sequel.

I don't know the actual heights of these guys in the comics, who is talker than who but I think you can send a stronger message by having Superman be talker than Batman. And have Batman look up to Superman but have Superman be the one in fear.

But that's probably not what they're going for.

At the end of the day Superman fans, this film is still about Kal. It ain't about Batman. Everything that happens in this film is about Kal's arrival and what happened in MAN OF STEEL. It's still a Superman sequel.

TDK was a Batman sequel, but Joker stole the show and he and Dent had just as big of a presence as Batman. This may be a Superman sequel but it's a Batman/Superman film. And Batman will surely steal the show, in more ways than one. I'm not complaining btw, I love both characters and I just want a great film, even if it goes into the Batgod deep end.
