The Suicide Squad info El Maybe provided was already out there on Jan 1 2014 via Bleeding Cool, who even posted screenshot of the script. And the little they have posted (basically the intro of the team) is definitely cool: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2014/01...r-suicide-squad-how-close-is-it-to-the-comic/

The reason it didn't get traction back when BC posted it is because the movie was not yet "news". But with Ayer on board, the movie is back to being a live news item.

Starro is terrifying but he'd get laughed out by the big wigs who'd want a Darkseid or a Mongul etc. Sadly I can't see him being on the big screen.

All it would take is concept art to sell the idea.

Does it really have to be yet another alien threat, after Avengers and MOS...? I was hoping they'd see the value in a "domestic" threat, take their cues from something like Kingdom Come or the OMAC storyline. If they really wanted to set themselves apart, that is, instead of following the standard superhero team-up formula.

Starro is a pretty different alien threat from Zod and the Chitauri. It's not an individual super powered badass on a marauding cyborg army. Starro is some grade A cosmic horror stuff.

it seemed like he read off the character descriptions contained there

The problem is Singer set it up for a single Donner film, and had no idea ahead of time where they may go after setting him up with a son. So they made a complication, and figured they could just take him away by writing his death into the sequel. Yikes.

Why not Parasite? I liked the Parasite episode from TAS.

The thing with a few villains like Zsasz, Parasite, Metallo etc. is that they can't be the solo villain in a movie. They can be the main villain in a single issue or a miniseries but they just aren't manipulative enough to be a compelling villain for a movie. This is why Metallo always needs a Luthor or someone pulling the strings, and why Parasite and Zsasz are more the villain whom the hero defeats in the prologue to the movie.

shrug I have barely mention Marvel any more. I try and stir clear of that subject as much as possible because I got in to trouble for talking about it.

The X-Men fans would have a ****fit :hehe:

Let them *****.

Here's a bit of advice, you wouldn't if you talked about it in the right place.

I know it's shocking but I'm sure you 'll cope with this bombshell.

Don't forget that I was the one who came up with Cav-El back in the day :argh:

Tower of Babel perhaps?

If you are here from May 2013, and people have been suggesting Cavill since before he was cast in MOS... I really doubt in all those years somebody didn't think of such a simplistic name association. :o

Scooping year old news, el maybe stoops to new lows

Are we going to get to Part 1000 before the film opens? That would be a million posts in one thread!
