On a sidenote and on topic, I went to Costco's a few weeks ago, wearing a Superman t-shirt. One of the guys working there said to me, "Nice shirt. Batman's going to kick his ass though in the movie." I said, "Oh we'll see man. We'll see."

This has been known for a while so how are finding out about this now? And New Line is making it, not WB. New Line technically has the rights.

Bummer. And here I thought Warner Bros had the rights to even DC Comics character.

Well, the only film that we know will come about after BvS is Justice League of course, with a potential Solo film for Wonder Woman and Aquman as well.

And it's pretty much a given that Ben will at least star in one solo film as Batman and that we'll get a MOS 3 somewhere down the line as well.

Wait, so he film won't be connected at all to the DC Universe at first? What the hell is the point of making it then?

If Warner Bros. and DC Comics are actually serious about expanding a big DC Universe-Franchise, then they would be fools to not add this to their DC Universe.

Worst off is that if they decide to "later" combine Shazam into the DC Universe, then it will probably feel forced since the film wasn't created for that purpose at first.

This is such terrible logic.

Seriously... Marvel is planning these things out for it seems like a decade. WB is dragging on just announcing who the hell is actually in BVS. Tis troubling...

Um....Henry Cavill and Amy Adams are coming back I guess as Clark Kent and Lois Lane respectively. Ben Affleck is apparently going to play Batman? Holly Hunter, I'm a fan of hers, is in it? Jeremy Irons might be playing Alfred? Laurence Fishburne too? Speculation here. We'll wait for official confirmation eventually...

Not fully market by any means- but it's just discouraging to me when I see these marvel announcements coming out left and right and we don't even know what characters are involved in the dcu at this point other than bats, Supes, Wonder Woman, and some vague black Adam news.

And yes- I definitely have zero ability to run a movie studio. Haha!

New Line is WB

Shazam movie will be a WB/New line film somewhat similar to how Dark Knight triliogy were WB/Legendary

It's like saying the Hobbit films aren't WB's

I think WB talks up their product but beyond actual concrete plans I am skeptical of them. Even WW is stuck as a cameo in another movie.

Just wanting WB to announce some sort of lineup. I'm tired of seeing the marvel news coming out and crickets from dc. I'm really anxious to see what's in store for us. That's all.

Which Marvel announcements have actually come out for movies we didn't know where coming? I mean, Cap 3 was announced 8 months ago and this is the first bit of news from that movie. The only announcements from Strange has been that the lead actor turned down the movie in the past month. Apart from these two movies, which announcements have come for any movie coming out in 2016 and beyond from Marvel?

Well to be fair, Marvel Studios is a company that works to produce and solely create Marvel-based Comic Book films, whereas Warner Bros produces and creates all kinds of films, ranging from different genres and franchises.

WB needs more franchises, and successful ones. So we will be seeing a heavier reliance upon the DC superheroes. But considering that only the Nolan Batman universe has been widely accepted by not only audiences but critics, I think they are just cautious about which to proceed with.

When it comes to the actual fight, I think that Superman will be depowered down through Kryptonite (either Batman has some of it, or Superman is already exposed - maybe through Luthor or other means.) Its the only way the fight could have any possibility of Batman being able to hold his own because while Rowen talked up Affleck's height, none of that (as well as his bulk) will mean anything to a superpowered hero.

When it comes to actual dates, like many people I have talked with I dont place a lot of faith in them - just look at ASM3 or even BvS.

Just cause it might not cross over right away doesnt mean it is completely separate. (it could go either way)

They aren't in the same position as Marvel though. Right now they cannot be like Marvel.

I've always been behind WB hiring someone smart and knowledgeable to oversee things.

When it comes to actual dates, like many people I have talked with I dont place a lot of faith in them - just look at ASM3 or even BvS.

Who are these people you talk to who always seem to think Superman will be sidelined, or WB won't meet the dates, or that everything WB is doing is wrong. I mean, in real life, do you go around asking people "So, what did you think of the DC movie schedule?" or something like that.

I like how you always have this nebulous "People I talk to" to fall back on in any issue to support your stance.

Shazam better connect to the DCCU otherwise its a waste of a villain for the DCCU not having the Rock as Black Adam.

As for an overseer-er, some thought that would be Nolan. Then people were confident it would be Goyer. Now (some) cling to the hope it will be Snyder. But really WB needs to choose more talent - widen the net.

Marvel has Antman, A of U, cap 3, guardians 2, and dr strange in plans to come out within the next 2-3 years. That ain't bad.
