They should introduce Green Lantern at the end of their 5 year plan, and then Arrow s6 is basically a traveling show week-to-week ala the Adams/O'Neil saga.

Easier to change the format once the format is 'finished' with all of the flashbacks.

My suggestion was going to be similar, but yours is probably better (assuming they're sticking with the five year plan). Mine was essentially to introduce the Green Lantern ring in Arrow some time near the end of the show and use it as an excuse to have John move on. If the show is five years (which, wow, we're already halfway done), early or mid season five would be the Green Lantern and then he departs from the show.

But like I said, I like your idea more. My only concern (which is why this Green Lantern idea appeals to me more than it should) is John Diggle's lack of superhero identity makes it difficult for him to fit in with a bunch of costumed heroes. During the last arc, when the team was severely outgunned, he was the one staying at home or piloting a helicopter when he should have been out front shooting people. At the end, he was able to appear in the open because there were a bunch of other people preserving his anonymity. I feel that, as Laurel becomes more important, either Roy or Diggle will suffer and it'll probably be the guy without the mask.

Yeah, Diggle's lack of a costume is becoming more and more nonsensical by the episode. At leas have him wear a mask. Of all of them, he has the most to lose (his wife and daughter) so he should be the one who wants to conceal his identity the most. And what makes it even worse is that he DOES wear a mask sometimes, but they're very inconsistent about it. He wears it when he doesn't really needs to, but then keeps his face uncovered in situations where he SHOULD wear a mask.

It's pretty clear that the only real reason why he DOESN'T have a costume/mask is because of the comics. Laurel and Roy both have costumed identities in the comics, so the showrunners feel like they have to give them costumes on the show. But Diggle was a character made up for the show and only recently added to the comics (without a costume), so the showrunners don't feel the need to do so for him, despite it not making sense in the context of the show.

It isn't just a mask so much as lack of superhero identity. When he wears a ski mask and is shooting a gun, he doesn't come off as any more heroic. He's doing heroic things, but there's still an inherent awkwardness that's difficult to overcome.

He should still wear it . if the "word realistic" is still to be used & he does have too much to loose next to him leading more people finding out who Oliver is. it's that or stay at their Hq & hear part of the fan base complain he's not useful as he should be, by staying there.

I agree, he should always wear the ski mask, it makes perfect sense and no one would complain about the lack of logic. Maybe the actor doesn't want to because obviously is not that comfortable, or the producers just don't care because that's who they are, but I digress.

Weird that we're already in the whine about everything phase every show but Breaking Bad goes through.

I think the producers are simply unconcerned. I don't think Ramsey would complain about wearing a mask when his co-stars are dressed in head-to-toe leather.

Going back to my predictions,I'm thinking Nyssa may be the one to kill Katana's husband, setting up a rivalry between the two for next season. It's been pretty tough to get a read on what they ultimately do with Katana. I doubt she gets a spin off series, but I'm sure they will somehow "Superhero-ify" her before she's done on the show.

Or maybe people are just dissatisfied with the current season? People are entitled to their opinions without you just waving them all away as whining.

When complaints start reaching "Diggle doesn't wear a ski mask because the producers just don't care" it's whining.

The risk they run with introducing ANY Green Lantern to this show is that Oliver increasingly becomes the least interesting aspect of the universe he spawned. I mean, aside from Roy, I already find him to be the least-interesting because I find Amell to be a generally uncompelling actor doing his best Batman impression and failing (despite seeming lovely in real life)...But when you throw in a character who gets to traverse the universe and at least talks about all these other worlds and beings from across the galaxy he encounters on a regular basis, you leave the audience wondering why we're not following that guy instead. It's like "hey audience, guess what! We've just opened up a whole new universe! But we're still just gonna show you what happens on the streets of Starling City. You're welcome."

So, are they going to just overtly ignore or dismiss Talia on Arrow?

It would have been nice in the flashback Talia and Nyssa would have been fighting and we still had room to ponder Talia being busy somewhere else in present day...

I was thinking the same thing. But the person Nyssa was fighting with looked much taller and like a male.

I wonder if Talia is going to be much younger, since it is assumed that Bruce hasn't gotten involved with the League yet and may still be young.

If she was 'no go' from DC, I wish they'd atlas reference her...

As well as, make a joke about another billionaire playboy in Gotham or something sometime.

I do love the city nods, like Blüdhaven.

I think Guggenheim made a comment a while back about ongoing discussions about what they'd do with Talia, so it's possible that they just haven't found the right story for her yet. Hell, maybe she's a part of the twist coming in episode fifteen.

Hey guys, I dunno if this has been released yet via official press release but I just found the episode synopsis of "Nanda Parbat" on Rotten Tomatoes:

"Merlyn is captured by Ra's al Ghul and taken to Nanda Parbat. Meanwhile, Ray becomes obsessed with finishing his Atom suit so he can save the city, but Felicity fears he is heading down the same path as Oliver and tries to pull him out of the lab."

Again, I dunno whether you guys have seen this before :).

It was posted back a few ages, you should really spoiler tag that though...

So I was just wondering, how about Prometheus for the next season big baddie, unlike Ra's he's the one Batman villain who actually does make sense as a GA villain and again unlike Ra's he can be more hands on in his approach to villainy, and get Roy to be more involved in the plot.

Prometheus sounds like a tech based villain right?......could work for Oliver since he has so far fought villains using traditional weapon. Only problem he would be expensive to show on the show but since we saw the Atom suit this should not be a problem

Oh man, what a thought. this version of Oliver in space. I think the only way this would happen is if a GL spinoff was for sure.

Since the last two finale occurred in Starling......do you think they will have the finale somewhere else? Why it take Ra's al Ghul so damn long to come and kill Merlyn is a question mark.

There's no need for olive in space, look him & hal jordan did s road trip together to help Oliver better under stand people that aren't well of and has had this stick it to the man attitude to those rich people that would abuse people that work under them or would Abuse anything period with their company's hal came in when those people super power hench men not body guards the only Oliver should head to space is with the justice league. other if he fights aliens he can do that ninja turtles stye kinda like most of the other bataman animated series like brave & bold others prior to it have done on earth. it also be the start to some detective (a skill Oliver lacks cause I do't to see anymore who doe it til he has that skill ) work into corporate corruption. have Oliver meet hal take Diggle and john Stuart, hmm JD & JS interesting.

It's not like there haven't bee some show's that used alien tech in abusive ways by corporations (earth final conflict come to mind ) this will be our two later reason for the trip they are galactic law men after all. this shouldn't be hard at all really. there's alot they can do and use from the comic's just make them contemporary make sure you create a good Roue gallery of villain's for him if the writers of animated tv series like TMnT can do this or biker mic (where the heroes fought business man type villain) then live action writers should be able to do as well to certain degree too

We'll leave the space stuff for the GL show or when CW or ay et work is ready for a full o JL show. ala 4400 , heroes & Alpha's

Especially since Barry says he looking for others like him self with powers in the stead of a theme song in his show the Flash .

Well, unless the producers were lying (once again) about not destroying Starling City for their finale, then I'm assuming that whatever goes down in the end won't jeopardize the entire city like we've seen he last two seasons.

I'm probably willing to bet that we'll see Team Arrow take the fight to Ra's this time around and have some kind of climax take place in his fortress at Nanda Parbat.

As for why Ra's is waiting so long.....well it seems like when it comes to Malcolm Merlin on this show...the only thing that's consistent about him is that he makes everyone else become inconsistent with how they handle him (writers included).lol

How many times is Starling City going to be destroyed, levelled or looted? It has the most unfortunate luck.

Agreed.

It's like the producers are afraid to take the next logical step: turning Oliver into a superhero. In a world where The Flash, Reverse Flash, Firestorm, Deathstroke and The Atom all exist, everything about Oliver is starting to feel ordinary.
