I thought the first half of Season 3 (up to 309 The Climb, and possibly up to 314 The Return) was great, but the second half, while still enjoyable and not as bad as people here make it out to be, wasn't nearly as good. Now, this is probably just a coincidence, but it seems like Felicity showed up a lot less in the first half.

Going from memory, Felicity wasn't a problem until about 2.14-on. I remember liking her a lot in the first half, and the writers did a much better job of keeping her as a logically minded person.
Ex, in the first ep, when she told Oliver that she wouldn't be slave to his emotions about dating. She was also pretty good in 2.12 when she called Oliver out on actually working with Malcom Merlyn. Felicity was pretty normal in the episodes in the first half with her requisite charm and one-liners.

Diggle should get the most screentime as this is his story arc......doubt Felicity/Emily will get the same as next season.....it over so time to start fresh again

the producer are fans of Buffy/Angel so the influence are there from 1 season Big bad and resolving the storyline with no cliffhanger. Buffy may be a long time ago but it memorable 12 years after it aired.

Besides myself, does anyone think that Bruce Wayne should appear in Arrow in the future?

Wayne Industries does exist in the Arrowverse after all (mentioned in a future newspaper in Flash).

I know Arrow can not have batman (and also superman) because of the whole embargo thing, but I think we could get a pre-batman Bruce. Gotham is allowed that (though it helps that he is a young kid).

It would indeed be interesting to see the direction they take the series next season. This was honestly underwhelming and I hate for it to go off the rails. Also, the entire Oliver retiring concept has me intrigued as to whether this was in the writers plans all along from the beginning. I remember them saying that they had the five seasons of Arrow generally planned out in their heads.

Actually I hope Arrow doesn't go beyond five seasons. The way they've burned through villains I don't think it needs to go much further.

This season was underwhelming and I'm wondering if they are running out of ideas.

I still maintain my belief that this season could have been better had they used a more comics appropriate version of Count Vertigo (the one that's portrayed as a sovereign of a foreign Nation) as the main villain (big bad) of Season 3, while introducing side/recurring villains like Sportsmaster and Chesire as his partners.

And for the sake of changing things up, have Team Arrow start the season as collaborating with ARGUS only for the latter organization to be the ones to betray Team Arrow and oust Oliver's identity to Starling City, with Amanda Waller being killed by the end of the season.

Waller getting killed would mean the Federal Government targeting all masked heroes and forcing them to work or be hunted down one by one. Instead of waller getting killed she is facing treason or some serious charge and begs Oliver to help her.

so...why did this feel like a series finale?
I don't get it... is it just Diggle and the ladies taking over? If so then what is going to be the trigger for bringing Oliver and Felicity back to starling?
I hope it's that he just gets bored and starts getting really moody and then cheats on Felicity. Cause that is the Ollie from the comics (but I know we haven't really followed his character very closely to this point anyway).
Also, and I will probably get a lot of hate for this, I really want Felicity to die. Her character has just gotten really annoying. I know it's the way she was written this season, but that's a permanent part of her character now OR hopefully she won't be so bad now that she "finally has her man". (general weak female character traits)

Finally caught the final 2 episodes last night. All in all it was a decent season for me. I enjoyed it. Def not on the same level as season 2 but still good for the most part. I do wonder where will they go from here. Maybe Felicity dies and he comes back for vengeance? Will be exciting to see what they come up with
