This doesn’t seem to make much sense to me. Felicity lives in the future, so if the final season is all set in the present, what’s the actual purpose (if any) to the flash-forwards?

There is no real purpose except maybe a potential spin off and giving the OGs more time off. Felicity isn't going to die but now Oliver can send her off to live in safety while he is out fighting crime and she can stay behind the scenes.

Well that would suck. I thought she already left and came back. Why does she want to leave again?

Seems like this is more Emily’s decision rather than the writers. Pretty sure they didn’t account for Emily leaving when they were writing the flash forward scenes.

They should've just kept her dead in the flash forwards. They already had an easy out but then they had to have her show up again last week. What was the purpose of that? And if EBR knew sooner, she should've told the producers and maybe they could've re-edited that episode so Felicity wasn't alive in the future.

She didnt want to leave the first time. This time she probably is just over it and would rather focus on married life going on vacation after vacation.

This is what I'm thinking. I would bet good money she appears in the series finale.

So there won't be flash forwards? Otherwise wouldn't she have to appear in those since it's been shown she's still alive. Would've been better off having her dead.

What's going to happen to Mia Smoak? She should've been Laurel's daughter instead as Katherine McNamara looks more like Katie Cassidy.

FF are sticking around, they can always find a way to write Felicity out of the future and probably will do so in the finale. Either have her die or find Oliver and go live happily ever after.

I can't see them doing a spin-off. All the other shows (even Legends to some degree) are linier. If a show were suddenly released and set in the future (or the past for that matter) it would bring up more continuity problems across the shows than we've already got. I guess the likes of Katherine and co have a one season deal, unless the Legends end up in the future and bring these characters into the past where they continue on in Flash, Batwoman or Supergirl etc.

Laurel Lance was killed off by Damian Darkh at the end of Season 4. She only returned later (possibly season 6) as Black Siren.

Precisely. Maybe back in the day of the WB when teen stars got a teen comedy or coming of age story. Even Amell could only get a supporting role in a TMNT sequel.

Melissa Benoist is probably the only one who will have a future beyond her show. She already does a lot of stuff in between.

And I wonder if that was mostly due to Supergirl's start on CBS (which got more viewers and attention from producers) and she parlayed that for quite a few roles. And also the fact that she's got considerable range.

I can see Melissa Benoist getting more work than EBR once she's done with Supergirl as she's a far more talented actress than EBR and that she's done many tv shows/movies before she got the Supergirl role. The best EBR could hope for is a supporting role in a tv show.

I never saw Brooklyn so I don’t know how EBR is as an actress outside of Arrow. I’m hoping it’s just the writing that makes her character so terrible. She could actually be a good actress for all I know...
