Not to toot our own horn but I felt Paroxysm, Pat and myself made a solid team the other night. Feel free to send me an invite again you two, I assure you I can pull my weight online.

Also, is it possible to lock your javelin onto a helicopter or jet?

Yes you need a Recon with SOFLAM unlocked to designate the helicoptor or jet though with it's laser, I believe the flares are useless against it as well.

EDIT - Also, if someone does deploy it for you, from a helicoptor or jet the red laser sticks out like a sore thumb.. think how the snipers scope glint sticks out.

Ugh. BF3 looks soooooooooo much better on PC it's just astounding. Jealous as hell.

I'm stoked for the expansion, though.

I've got it for the PC & apparently from what I've heard, for me to make the game to look like it does on the consoles I have to stick it on it's lowest setting availabe. It doesn't look bad as I've tried it, it looks equally as good as Call of Duty Black Ops, MW2 on their highest settings.. however I play using Ultra settings & the game looks unbelievably good. From a graphical standpoint some console users have said the game doesn't look anything special.. however from a PC standpoint it looks outstanding. I can put some pictures up if you like.

I agree it looks exponentially better, but not for the price it costs to get ur PC there, or to buy a PC that can run it. I mean for that kind of money you are far, far better off getting a Mac and just sticking with a Ps3 or Xbox.

But if i could get a PC that can make BF3 look like that, for around 300 bux, it'd be on like donkey kong.

Not really, I mean assuming your PC is fairly new ie less than 3 years old, most PC's built in that timeframe would be capable of running the game even on it's medium settings.. which would look significantly better than the consoles. This is assuming of course that the person didn't go dirt cheap when buying said PC.

I don't know what the price of component parts is like in the USA, but if you spent $300 ie around £125 on a PC in the UK it would be useless. An iphone would be capable of doing more things.

I've had a quick look about on Google & I'd say you could get a PC that would run the recommended specifications for BF3 on PC in the US for around $500-$600 or so which is only around £300.. which, at least in the UK is a fairly standard price for your average home computer nevermind one that would be capable of playing top end games.

Yea absolutely man. Next time i see ya online I'll send ya an invite.

Anyone going to be playing any BF on 360 in the next hour or so?

It would be interesting seeing the player count drop when Modern Warfare 3 is released.

It will undoubtedly have some form of effect as for the most part the people that buy Battlefield also buy MW3.. I know I do anyway.

The real story will be how many play each in say a month or two.

I'll be back & forward between the two until the cheats start to come into MW3.

Or the *****ebags who don't defuse a bomb thats like 10 metres away from them because they're busy sniping for teh mad killstreeeek

can someone tell me whats different from this game to the last one? i see people complaining about COD because the new one seems like its the same game as the last, but from what i've seen the same could be said about this game. so whats new?

Aside from a new game engine and even better sound FX?

The big ones I can think of:

Jets.
Supressive fire blurs vision of enemy players.
Flashlights/laser sights blind all players.
Reworked classes and new class equipment.

lol.

I will be.

The maps are built for near enough three times the amount of players. Jets. It pushes technology forward. You could have probably just got this from looking at wikipedia, i'm sure there is probably more info.

Can snipers still call in airstrikes?

No. They've basically replaced airstrikes with mortars(for the support class) and the SOFLAM(for the recon class) The SOFLAM allows ANY laser guided weapon to lock on to any vehicle, once the SOFLAM has designated the target.

Yea the Recon class is far more team oriented than they were last time. Which is both a blessing and an evil, evil curse.

Mostly a curse, since most Recon players are "uber l337 sn1p3rz!!1" aka climb to the top of the crane on Firestorm and don't get a single kill the entire match.

I like to think I'm a decent Recon player, I really love the SOFLAM.

As someone who mans Engineer more often than not, any Recon player that uses the SOFLAM is a damn good recon player in my book.

I love both BF3(First one in the series I have played)and MW3.I like BF3 for the team work/challenge and I like MW3 because it has more game modes/better campaign.

We should lock down a team and play some Squad Rush.
