BvS Ben Affleck IS Batman!! - Part 1

I have no idea how this guy can be criticised so much without even people seeing his portrayal of the character. The stupidity of people crying out Daredevil and Gigli....guess what people, Daredevil had a director and a writer....and yes Gigli was **** but I am sure nearly every actor has done a bad film.

His last few movies have been great and he has really grown as an actor and a screenwriter/director. I hope too he has a hint in editing the script or even a deal where he can pen his own Batman films.

He has the physique for Batman, he is a big guy and will get more buffed up for this role. He has the jaw lol. He has the look for Bruce Wayne.

The only thing that concerns me is that they are going for a more wiser Batman with lots of experience, which is very cool but how is that going to affect his fighting style in the upcoming movies. I really want to see Batman fight acrobatically and be very agile, true to his character.

Anyways the point of this is that people need to wait until they actually see a trailer or watch the movie before judging. Anything else is just stupid misconceptions. Haven't we learnt our lesson from Heath Ledger, Keaton etc

Although we all know he wouldn't reprise his role, we all deep down hoped that he would. He truly is hanging up the cowl for good.

Can't say this surprises me. They went with a big name instead of building a name. Disappointing, not to take anything away from Ben... I just think it's an extremely conservative move.

A giant role like this, they could have made a star out of some one. Ben Affleck doesn't need any help, he's already monstrously famous.

Marvel has brought global fame and name recognition to the three Chrises - Hemsowrth, Evans and Pratt and built them up to be dependable leading men.

You obviously weren't in high school or college when Armageddon came out. Girls were OBSESSED with Affleck back then. And sure, he's aged a bit but he's still a handsome dude.

Seriously, people were gung ho about the possibility of BROLIN playing Bruce Wayne and are worried that Affleck isn't good-looking enough?

I was never for Brolin, ew. But yeah, I can tell the guy has looks. But in a "mainstream" perspective, I just don't see how Affleck can "out-handsome" Gosling, Cooper or Cavill. Eh. Just something on my mind. Shouldn't be discussed here anyway. haha!

Affleck means it's Batman vs Superman - put money on it. This ain't no Man of Steel 2.

Good. Superman's solo films should not be hampered by other heroes, least of all Batman.

It has nothing to do with Gigli.. It has to do with a superhero role similar to Batman.

It would be moronic to ignore that part of Affleck's resume.

Fantastic Four sucked but everyone was willing to give Chris Evans a shot at Captain America because he clearly did a great job as Johnny Storm.

Affleck as DD? Not so much.

Affleck did a great job on Daredevil and certainly wasn't his fault the way it turned out.

I don't understand it at all. Affleck isn't even cast against type, like a Keaton or a Ledger. There's really no excuse not to give him a chance.

I'm willing to give it a chance. Not sure about it, but it could work out depending on the direction they choose to take. Almost every good CBM had a "What, that guy/woman?" reaction for their respective roles. Most people who claim to love a certain actor/ress's portrayal of a character would probably have doubted it when they first heard of the casting.

If Affleck had a filmography more similar to Bale's people would be jumping for joy. I think people are reacting more to their negative associations with his movies than the actor himself. He's actually had some decent movies and played a couple of good characters. Everyone is going to jump onto the "Oh, the guy from Gigli?" bandwagon and tear Affleck to shreds. Personally I think he has the whole all-American thing down and can pull off the look. His acting isn't too bad and it's likely he'll do a pretty decent job.

I think he also suffers from severe comparisons to Bale, as any successor to TDKT would.

Perhaps, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. We don't know if there will even be a Flash or GL on film yet. And even if we do get them, there's not reason to assume that either of those guys are a lock for the role. Cooper is most likely out for any type of role in a DC film now that it looks like he's going to voice Rocket Raccoon for Marvel (still trying to wrap my head around that one, but then I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that Rocket Raccoon is actually going to appear in a movie).

As for Cavill... lol, I don't think they were ever going to find an actor that would out-handsome that dude.

So the irate hate seems to be going beyond the normal 'fanboy' circles. From what I can gauge on Facebook, Twitter etc, there's a genuine dislike of Affleck as an actor by a lot of people. A level of dislike I never knew existed.

Ben Affleck is just one of those actors audiences (that are widely uneducated about his work) just love to hate.

Hmm...I don't even know what to say to this. Affick isn't a BAD actor but he's certaintly better behind the camera than in front of it. But even so, it seems like very poor casting to place him as Batman. It's an ok choice, but there are far better actors out there that could have fit the role. Ones with a face that would look better in the cowl too.
