lol you just directly quoted me twice without actually quoting me... :o

Just gonna let you know that I will quote you till kingdom come forever. What you said was something i had trouble phrasing and you nailed, so srry about not quoting.

do a youtube search for "Ben Affleck's Boiler Room speech", i hope that's the bruce wayne we get, ha ha ha ha.

The first news regarding this film that I'm content with. And I definitely think this will mean the solo Batman spin-off will be directed by Ben. And from The Town he's shown he can do great gritty crime drama. People hoping for a more fantastical Arkham Asylum-esque Batman might have reason to be disappointed though.

I think Ben knows the pressure following Bale's redefinement of the character. But I really do think if he really puts his heart into it and transforms himself we could see something great.

He WAS hated by the general public for a number of years and only recently made a comeback into their good graces by making prestige friendly, but incredibly simplistic and safe films as a writer/director. Doesn't mean they're unenviable or don't play to his limited strengths as an actor.

Well this just proves that you just plain don't like the guy. Gone Baby Gone and The Town are far from simplistic and safe. The Conjuring is safe. Friends With Benefits is safe. Just because they aren't non-chronological-ambiguous-ending-indie-faux-intellectual, doesn't mean they're "simplistic." Making an interesting, entertaining and tense movie is HARD.

I suggested Ryan Reynolds for Green Lantern a looongwhile before it actually happened. I thought it might work....kind of.

I regret those words.

I just mean it's better that his friend Batman remind him humans can pose a threat to him then oh... being killed by Lex.
And it makes no sense. Superman doesn't need to be reminded of anything. He should be crushing Batman if they fight. But they shouldn't even be fighting. This is the horrible 80s mindset made by Frank Miller. Lego Batman even got it.

Wow, this took me by surprise.

I'm okay with it. Not my first choice, but I'm okay with it for now since he's the guy who made Gone Baby Gone, Town, and Argo and I'm sure he's passionate about this character.

I would actually like if he directs the next solo Batman movie.

I think Affleck will revel in the opportunity to get downright pissed off under the cowl and itll look friggin awesome. :woot:
Angry Affleck Bat. :woot:

I don't even really like Ben Affleck, or at least care much for him. But I think he can do this.

i don't hate it. i would have preferred bale return or jon hamm, but affleck is better than brolin, bomer, or whoever else's name has been thrown around here.

still hyped about this film.

Also he better change his Boston basy accent and get sharp like Wayne/Batman

But he lacks the weight and brooding quality that Batman requires.

Gone Baby Gone's ending is certainly not safe.

We just got one of the hottest directors in Hollywood for the next Batman film. We have an Academy Award winning director to take Batman from Nolan. Make no mistake, Ben's directing the next Batman film. That's why this is exciting. Batman/Superman may suck, but with Goyer and Snyder writing, its chances were slim anyways. Maybe Ben can give those guys some pointers too. Who knows.

If it all works out, I will be happy. But there hasn't been any news for this film that has come close to filling me with glee. Superman getting overshadowed and his ass kicked by an underwhelming Batman.

Seriously...when I just read of this casting, I laughed for about 5 minutes off and on...this is hilarious. I'm just happy I'm not a big Batman fan. I like the character enough...though he takes himself a bit too seriously for my taste...but this is hilarious casting. Affleck is such a cheese ball. Hey...do you think Jay and Silent Bob will be in the film...perhaps as the Riddler and the Penguin respectively! Lol!

Oh man...and Jennifer Lopez for Catwoman for sure! Lol!

I never said they should fight. I want him to be a mentor and friend like they should be. You are the one who stated that he was kicking Superman's ass.

I just ran with it.
