the material is not the same on both suits. The superman suit is more glossy and has a different texture. The batman suit is a more fabric based suit that has a look of weaved kevlar. The genius in both suits is that they both give the impression of musculature through the suit but in different ways. From afar or in the dark at night the bat suit will appear almost like muscular skin, as it is adhering close to the body. While if inspected up close or in the light than the kevlar like fabric and armor will be visible. Where as from afar or in the dark at night the superman suit will appear almost just as a mass with no musculature shown through. While if shown in the light all of the musculature is visible and it has a sheen. This is absolutely genius. And is a great way to illustrate the characters themselves. Superman should be presented in the light as should his suit. While batman should be presented in the dark. I love both suits they are different yet uniform enough that they should exist in the same universe. I am extremely excited to see what they do with wonder woman, aquaman (i'm guessing they will use a similar concept to superman and batman's suit but with wet suit qualities that would differentiate it in the same way as the batman and superman suits.

I think that the fact that there is texture in both suits material is about the only real similarity that people are harping on. But when you look close.... No. They are not the same.

I can see Superman discovering Batman's identity first with his X-Ray vision in the MoS sequel before Batman discovers Superman's.

I want Batman to use a lead lined cowl in preparation for meeting Superman. Superman can't see through lead.

I think it's the most likely. Supes first discovered Bats and then Bats ala detective.
