I swear it seems like everyone thinks that Ben was some skinny fella with no muscle on him like 4 months before shooting. Look at him in Gone Girl! He was huge, but wasn't as huge/cut as he is now. I think with what he has at his side (Personal Trainer, Diet etc.) there is no doubt he could do what he did.

I think that look has a good mix of sadness and anger. Reminds me of some of Keaton's brooding.

That's the look your parents give when they aren't mad, but they're just disappointed.

It's actually the look of a man who's about to crumble because of the rage and darkness inside of him, who could either explode or implode, but who silently tries to go on. Which makes things worse. It's actually my favorite shot of the entire teaser trailer, and a kick-ass way to introduce Ben Afflekc as Bruce Wayne. Just look at how he's breathing, how he's trying to remain still, yet is slightly moved by the darkness inside him. And that flashy lighting on his left sure helps underline his state. He's gonna be one angry, brooding sonofab...

well im sold on ben Affleck as batman, my only worry was the voice and now I know they are using a voice modulator type thing im happy! don't think ben afflecks the best actor but he is adequate enough to do a great job! i hope that they scrap the idea that batman doesn't kill as that is a bad idea i mean let him have the rule that he doesn't kill unless theres any other option.

since those set pics came out i was pretty sold on Affleck's Bruce Wayne. Its his Batman that still remained to be seen for me. sure we saw a bit from the trailer now but eh.... not enough. im not really counting Ironbat either because too many modified elements (voice, eyes, suit etc) that overpowers Affleck's performance in the cowl and cape

I can't tell you how refreshing it will be to see a Batman and Bruce who has already gone through a looot of ****. Not too much focus on origin or training and etc just BAM, straight to the experienced dark knight. It will be fun to see that.

So the flashing light on Bruce's face has got me thinking. Could it be the Zod message? Could it be just a light flickering in his old, worn out bat-cave?

My point is that it doesn't matter whether he had help or not. Both ways take a lot of hard work and sacrifice, so what is the point in debating. However, people who aren't in the know about fitness really underestimate the slow process that is building muscle naturally, even under ideal circumstances. 4-5 months is a very short time to get into killer shape (even from a decent base) and it is generally dubious how many of these actors are doing it naturally. Personally, I don't really think Affleck used since he didn't actually add that much mass and it took him a lot longer to get into shape than other actors. He was still improving into shooting.

Oh no I agree, I hate it when people just assume that when someone takes steroids they instantly because jacked.

It might just be me,. but Affleck doesnt really look Jacked,. his arms are small,. his chest looks like he has old man chest,. nothing about these photos show to me "jacked"

It works well enough for an older Batman.

Plus the silicone type padding weaved in the lining of the suit helps with any areas lacking. The most important part is that he has enough mass to fill it out.

In other words, he looks natural for a guy in his 40s. Batman shouldn't have manboobs and back acne.

i'm going to be both positive and not positive here.

positivity:

the trailer is awesome. everyhing looks awesome. i really like the set-up and darkness of it all.

what i don't like though (and this is just nitpicking, because the shot in itself is like breaking the internet awesome):

nExBTif.gif

the nose in this shot. it comes off to sharp imho, too 'beaky', too night-owlish. i would have preffered it to be slightly smaller or atleast less reflective of the light. it looks too big compared to the head/ears.
it's a minor detail in this shot though, the shot itself is simply amazing and full of tension. i like it. pure badass.

the second thing i don't like; batman in a mech suit. I know the comics show this, and it's true to the 'mechanically-powered-fist-blow-to-the-chin' to superman from the comics, but to be honest, i don't like it.

personally, i think it makes batman look more weak and cowardly. Offcourse it's easy as can be that a 'normal' human-batman is zero match for a alien superbeing. so there must be some form of 'empowerment' to be able to engage into battle. I just don't think a full mech-suit, especially one that looks this clumsy and unwieldy imho as this one.

I liked the 'exoskeleton' mechanic aiding devices in Nolan's batman; where he has it around his arms to punch through walls [ and cut through steel ],
and the leg exoskeleton which fixes his knee injury and makes him kick through concrete.

personally, i'd rather have seen something more like that instead of some sort of 'hulkbuster' iron-man suit-like 'tank' suit.

nevertheless, i'm still okay with it. just some missed opportunities imho.

can't wait for this movie. i want it now
