Bale showed more variety in 3 whole movies than Affleck did in a couple trailers and a short clip.?!

I'd argue that the TDK films probably had more time to depict a wide variety of emotion. I personally think the "angry shots" won't be all the shots of Bruce in the movie.
But the scenes chosen for the trailers warrant those kind of expressions. It's only "overacting" if, in context, it's over the top.Bale was subtle as Bruce Wayne, and not every shot was a ANGER FACE as Bruce. That's what we've been given with Ben so far. We get it, Bruce Wayne is an angry man, now i want to see some variety please.
I agree. I said that yesterday. Ill cut it slack because it could be the way they're editing the trailers. Only choosing specific moments where Bruce is a part of a reveal. But im allowed to look at what im seeing and pointing out that every shot of |Bruce so far is an angry rage face. I want to see variety in these trailers where Bruce is feeling something else other than rage. But the scenes chosen for the trailers warrant those kind of expressions. Fair enough.I agree. I said that yesterday. Ill cut it slack because it could be the way they're editing the trailers. Only choosing specific moments where Bruce is a part of a reveal. There were shots of Bruce in the Comic Con trailer where he didn't have an angry rage face.I agree. I said that yesterday. Ill cut it slack because it could be the way they're editing the trailers. Batfleck looking at his suit is better than Bale looking at his. There.
Round n round we go. lol

I hope you're right. There were shots of Bruce in the Comic Con trailer where he didn't have an angry rage face.
The other thing to consider is that they are clearly marketing the "versus" aspect of the film. As such, it's no surprise we're getting shots where the two characters are pissed at each other. It's like the lead up hype to a UFC fight.
We've only seen a handful of footage for a two hour movie. There's obviously more to it than these two being at odds. We already know Bruce comes into this film at a dark place. Hence the anger and the angst. It's Superman's job to bring him out of it by the end.
They're marketing the showdown. Save the resolution and nuances for the actual film.
You can't compare two different scenarios. Which time are you talking about, with Bale looking at his suit? Rises? He's been out for 8 years. This one with Ben may be a different case. Maybe he's still active when this movie starts, and he's looking at his suit thinking of what he needs to do to Superman. He wants to destroy him and perhaps he's thinking of his childhood at the same time. We just don't know. Bale looking at his, was more like "good, it's been a hell of a long time, and maybe i can die in battle". Two different expressions are needed.Batfleck looking at his suit is better than Bale looking at his. There.

I could tell it was Affleck up until the point where he does that turn towards Superman (very Batman-ish). I could always tell because of his chin, and his facial expressions under the mask in the beginning of the sneak peek were just classic Affleck. Maybe it's also because i just watched Gone Girl again like 2 days ago, so i've been used to seeing Ben's face.![]()
Anyone beside me not see Affleck/Bruce Wayne under that mask?
With bale you could tell.
Don't get me wrong it's a good thing. I guess the wider face/mask conceals who's underneath it better
Bale's mask was leaner with the cheek parts sucked in
The only thing that screamed affleck to me was his teeth. He has those very distinct veneers. However, this is batman. The looks of fear and anger yet already assessing the situation for a way out.I could tell it was Affleck up until the point where he does that turn towards Superman (very Batman-ish). Yes, looking at that cover, you almost get the sense that Aparo was inspired by Ben's likeness when rendering it. Interestingly enough, he wasn't properly credited for his work. It was Greg Rucka who later acknowledged -- on his website -- that Aparo was responsible for said illustration.
I agree that Affleck looks less like Lee's Wayne, which is why I emboldened my previous reference to Aparo. Where I see a similarity, however, is in the long/dolichocephalic head form -- the high cheek bones and somewhat narrow chin. You know, I actually think that Affleck himself is somewhat generic looking (not in a bad way, mind you) in the sense that he almost looks like a drawing. While not having a perfectly square jaw, his head form comes close to approaching that of a typical superhero. This is also reinforced by his narrow nose and thin lips; said features allow for him to better disappear behind the cowl. Sure, you could say that his prominent chin is a dead give-away, but I've found that Bruce Wayne has been rendered with a fairly large chin in the pages of the comics more often than not. So, for me, that's a nonissue.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. He looks like the Crypt Keeper.Yike. Did someone run over Cavills face with a truck?
