Apocalypse Ben Hardy Joins the Cast of ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ - Part 1

At this point, i'd rather have not those [blackout]two back... I didn't like Bryan's take on Apocalypse while Havok's death could have been better, bringing him back from that would be quite a stretch.[/blackout]

Yeah, but it isn't like Apocalypse doesn't return from a certain and explicit death in the comics all the damn time.

And remember how the same thing happened to Jean Grey, Cable, Psylocke, Archangel, Nightcrawler, Magneto and X-Man? Like odds are that within the next decade, Jean Grey, Cyclops and Wolverine are going to get resurrection stories. Nobody in the comics truly stays dead forever. If X-Factor ever gets off the ground, expect Havok to return and not look a day older than how old Lucas Till is at the time. When one of your main characters comes from a world where reality TV becomes the backbone of society and other is somebody who never existed in any universe, you realize that X-Factor is a weird, weird series and the films should reflect that.

I want the first film or season to deal with Mojoworld and Shatterstar claiming to be the son of a pop diva who comes from the future of an alternate universe. The second should involve a woman with the power to raise the dead who brings Havok back to life but allegedly never existed in any reality and was brought into existence by Wolverine's actions in DOFP and every single timeslide by Cable. That's just what I'd do with X-Factor.

I dunno, it's a bit of a stretch, then why didn't his wings heal after the cage fight?

His healing powers are a secondary mutation caused by Apocalypse's genetic tampering. Same thing in the comics. Archangel not only has a healing factor but he's also blood type O Negative which means that he can donate to anyone and can also secrete poisons that can either paralyze or kill.

Ah okay. They should have had Angel recuperating in the X-Lab or something, which would allow him to join the team in a sequel. At least no one got obliterated/poofed in the finale this time around. It's just strange that Psylocke walked away and Angel laid there looking dead with no indication of surviving.

The thing Angel was so badly wounded not like Psylocke. Thank God he wasn't vaporized from that explosion.

Betsy should've saved Warren and walked off together. Don't know why they didn't have the foresight to include something that. Like seriously, it's baffling. You'd think they'd at least not kill someone off and learn from X3. At least his death wasn't explicit and he could easily be brought back if they wanted.

I think that's why they filmed things that way.

If they just showed the plane crash, then I'd have a much easier time believing that he's dead. Singer clearly intended for Tim Miller to be able to use him in X-Force if he wants to.

I hope some filmmaker intends to pick up the loose ends from this one. I don't think Miller will go UXF, but I pray to Ryan Reynolds that he wants to use Munnlocke and Angel or something. I'll take literally any and all contrived reason to see those two done justice.

I'm hoping that the roster is Cable, Deadpool, Psylocke, Archangel, Domino, Siryn and X-23. That's a perfect roster right there. They're all associated with X-Force. You'd have Domino and X-23's mother-daughter relationship with Neena being a terrible role model and having to shape up and stop drinking heavily and using profanity around Laura and gets angry when Deadpool does something that she's tempted to do but avoids doing. She's struggling with keeping Laura in a role where she's killing people and wonders if she's leading her down the wrong path... Wade teaches Laura how to do armpit farts. Archangel would be the straight man for everyone else to play off of as Cable and Psylocke stick to dry humor, Deadpool and Domino drop one-liners and X-23 just says awkward/creepy things that nobody else would event think to say or occasionally do. Siryn would work as the voice of reason who keeps the team from falling apart. Archangel would be the loosest cannon of all who frequently wallows in self-pity and his love for Psylocke is the only thing that keeps him going but when even Betsy can't reign him in, Terry is the one who keeps him in line. In the same way that Archangel adds drama to an action-comedy that has an irreverent tone, Siryn is needed just to keep the plot moving so it doesn't just degenerate into two hours of back and forth banter. Cable would be the leader and Domino would rank under him. X-23 would be the young trainee who the rest of the team have to watch out for. Psylocke and Archangel want atonement and see X-Force as their path to redemption. Deadpool is mostly just in it because Cable is paying him (although he also states that it's because he's a popular character who audiences want to see). Seven is enough for the first film. That's how many Avengers there were for the first film in that series (Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Nick Fury, Black Widow and Hawkeye). I feel like this be a good roster who have enough history with each other to come across as interesting.

Save Warpath and Fantomex for the sequel and bring Sunspot and Hope Summers for the threequel after the former graduates from New Mutants. MAYBE also use Meltdown.

Rictor and Shatterstar should be saved for X-Factor. When Wolfsbane, Cannonball and Mirage are too old for New Mutants, Wolfsbane should head to X-Factor while Mirage and Cannonball transfer to the X-Men. Sunspot should be the New Mutant who joins X-Force. That's mostly to keep X-Force from ever getting too crowded.

The vibe I was getting made it seem like it was gonna be Deadpool, Cable, Domino, X-23 and someone else to make it 5, but if they make it 7, more power to them I guess. I certainly wouldn't be against it if was well balanced.

Hopefully Siryn if Cable and Deadpool has Black Tom and Juggernaut as the villains. I feel like it's too soon for T-Ray or Evil Deadpool and Black Box and Slayback are nowhere near as iconic as Juggernaut is whe it comes to Deadpool's rogues gallery.

I thought Ben Hardy did a good job in the role and he is incredibly sexy. He emoted more emotions than people thought he did and I was pleasantly surprised.

I do wish Apocalypse had said "My archangel". ah well.

I liked Hardy but Angel and Psylocke were really done wrong in this in favor of Magneto. Hopefully they use him again...

I hope they will! Angel and Psylocke are like A-listers in the comics. Like they just can't waste them like ever again!

It looked pretty daunting for Angel he looked like he didn't make through that but who knows truly. All the Horsemen were pushed to the side for Magneto and that was a complete waste they really could have done so much with them.

If anyone is interested Ben Hardy was in a play called, "The Judas Kiss", if you're crafty with google you can see.. everything lolz .. dat booty :drl:

i saw it lol. He's a firecrotch below it looks like :sly: I wonder if he's packing tho, can't tell when its dormant like that :woot:

Yeah I know...Its possible though that maybe he was given a healing factor with that upgrade. Not holding my breath though.

It looks really good! I love it!!! :ilv: Ben Hardy is just so fine! And I wish I heard his sexy voice more in the movie!:gngl:

Now we know that [BLACKOUT]Sinister is out there. It's possible that Essex Corp recovered Angel's body from the debris.[/BLACKOUT]

I was impressed by Ben Hardy/Archangel too. Obviously it wasn't a huge role, but he had more dialogue than I expected, and he had some emotional moments with losing his wings, etc. Nowhere near the level of mute bodyguard that others have had in earlier movies.

And, like you said, hes really sexy ha.

Hope they bring him back for another movie and redeem his character! Would love to see an arc where he struggles to fit in with the other X-Men.
