Apocalypse Ben Hardy Joins the Cast of ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ - Part 1

I agree with most here, I was pleasantly surprised with Ben's Angel/Archangel. I thought that he gave him a lot of personality despite the limited scenes. I didn't expect his transformation scene to Archangel would be so brutal to watch. I would definitely want to see more of him (and Psylocke) in the future films.

I hope we see him again. I was hoping he'd join the X-Men at the end, but after what happened, I doubt we'll be seeing him again. Maybe Essex Corp got a hold of his body, and we'll see him again one day, being experimented on.

Alot of personality? How? He literally got zero character development. I dont feel like we knew who he was and what his personality actually was like. All he did was fight and listen to music while drunk

I don't know why they left him there, or maybe they cure him in mansion...

Essex Corp have Wolverine's blood now, so they could add healing factor for Archangel powers. Essex could cure him and make blue skin like in cartoon.

I hope Xavier & co recovered his body. He was right there in plain sight. If he's alive you'd think they would've detected it. I guess it would give him a slight cause for revenge if they just left him there to rot, though.

I do think he's alive. He's an A-lister and they went through the trouble of casting a hot young up and comer, on top of the character having had a powerful healing factor since the turn of the century "secondary mutation" craze.

During the cage match what I got from him was that he enjoyed winning, he also had that bratty attitude "you can't give me what I want" with Apocalypse. (I can't remember verbatim. Sorry.) Then, he became an emotionless servant.

It wasn't a lot (my bad, poor choice of words) but at least to me, it felt that the actor tried to be present in his limited scenes. I see Angel (along with Psylocke & Storm) as a casualty from having a weak script. :(

RBM posted on Twitter something Bryan told him about hoping Angel is alive because he loves the character and Hardy, so I'm fairly certain they just left it in an ambiguous place where anyone could do anything with him if they chose.

Obviously they should've just left him explicitly alive so we didn't have to fret over it but it seems like they're leaving it in a place for anyone who wants him can utilize him.

When I watched the film, it didnt cross my mind that he was dead till I read people on here assume that he was. Im under the notion that he's alive until a future film says otherwise

I really wish they just picked up his body or sent him into a hospital or better yet, he had an amnesia after the climax and Xavier decided to take care of him. That would have been nice! :ilv:

I would pick up Ben Hardy.. and tuck him into bed too lmao..

I just want to see Angel join the X-Men. He didn't really do anything in X3, and he was a villain in Apocalypse. He's one of the original X-Men, so he deserves to have a place on the team.

How is it that Apocalypse makes a joke at The Last Stand's expense, yet manages to make it look better in comparison?

Not in most ways, granted, but it makes me nostalgic for the days when a weak 3-scene character arc for Angel was considered to be wasting the character.

This version is much worse. Outside of a pretty great body horror sequence, Angel is totally DOA in this film. The Archangel story was always going to be hurt without a rich character history for Warren established. A heel turn is only good when it happens to a great character afterall. It was a big feat to introduce a character, cement his good nature, put him through trauma, and turn him bad all in one film...

... Or it would have been if Singer even bothered. Without his history as an X-Man and all-round good guy, Archangel is just an a*sehole with metal wings. And that is all he was in this. Why bother?
