The Dark Knight Rises Cast The Dark Knight Returns

Here what I think:

If the studo-execs do decide to end the current movie-franchise on an adaptation of 'The Dark Knight Returns' (which I find hard to envision ever happening, but still), then wouldn't it make far more sense to cast the same actors, in their same roles, as they were portrayed in 'Begins' and throughout the ensuing franchise. Now, we dont know who Joker is yet, same with Dent or anyother of the characters floating about the sequel-rumour mill, but I know that if they were going to do a 'DKR' movie, I'd want to see Bale and Oldman reprise their roles for the movie. Same with whoever goes onto be cast as Joker, Two-Face and Catwomen in the latter movies. Now, naturally if say Catwomen didn't make it into a movie before 'DKR', she'd need to be cast originally (although her characters worth in the movie would be pretty redundant if we hadn't of seen her before hand in another movie).

Danny Boyle has plans to direct an adaptation of 'Porno', the sequel to 'Trainspotting', but only when the actors are much older so they can play the roles properly as they are meant to come accross in the book. For this reason, he's waiting 15 years or so until the original cast are much older, so he cant start filming. This is the approach that should be taken if a 'DKR' movie was on the cards, wait until the cast of Nolans movies are the ages that their characters were in the book, and then film with them. The only problem I could see being is casting Caine, since he is already fairly-old in his role in Begins, but there is no reason for not doing it with the rest of the cast if they would agree to reprise their role.

I haven't thought of who I'd cast in the roles of the original-characters for the movie, yet. But when I have an idea I'll post them.

I've been pondering that myself. Maybe an older Rachel McAdams for Ellen Yindell, other than that no ideas.

Here is my cast of DKR movie:

THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS

Batman/Bruce Wayne: Bruce Willis
Joker: Denis Leary
Two-Face/Harvey Dent: Ray Liotta
Alfred: Michael Gough
Superman: James Caviezel

That's all I have cos I can't remmeber other characters were.

No I was gonna go with David Bowie but then I thought that was your choice so I left out David instead of Denis.

What do you think of my cast?

You've lost me.

I think you're cast is good.

Who's your pick for the older Selina Kyle and Jim Gordon?

Paul Newman as Jim Gordon and Meryl Streep as Selina Kyle.

So you like it?

Yes, it's a great cast. Can't say any of them are my top picks, but I wouldn't that cast at all. What about The Green Arrow?

Here are my picks, which I've posted several times.

Batman / Bruce Wayne - Denzel Washington
The Joker - David Bowie
Two-Face / Harvey Dent - Al Pacino or Bruce Willis
Catwoman / Selina Kyle - Ann-Margret or Sigourney Weaver
Jim Gordon - Clint Eastwood or Donald Sutherland
Mutant Leader - Michael Clarke Duncan
Commissioner Ellen Yindell - Jennifer Jason Leigh or Jamie Lee Curtis
Superman / Clark Kent - Jim Caveizel or Daniel Day Lewis
Robin / Carrie Kelly - Dakota Fanning
The Green Arrow / Oliver Queen - Sean Connery

Great cast BTW, for Robin and The Green Arrow I don't know who would be great.

Thanks.

Robin would be best suited for an unkown, but I think Fanning can pull it off.

And for me, Connery is the only pick for The Green Arrow. I read awhile back that Miller drew the part to his face.

i really like your Denzel choice for Batman. It's practically GENIUS casting, but i can't see it happening. As cool as it would be, i, personally, wouldnt like it happening. Batman is a white character. Had he been black, i think Denzel would have been casted almost immediatly(and it would have owned). Dont get me wrong. Im not racist or anything, but i dont really want a Black batman. If you had to, whose your white actor of choice for Batman?

oh, and in that first Peter Weller picture, he looks exactly like Miller's Bruce Wayne...only a bit skinnier. scary.

I'm probably gonna be beat around the head with a blunt object for some of these, but here goes anyway...

THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS

Batman: Nicolas Cage

Joker: Willem Dafoe

Robin: Jodelle Ferland

Two-Face: Hugo Weaving

Superman: Clive Owen

Catwoman: Lynda Carter

Jim Gordon: Kris Kristofferson

Mutant Leader: Mickey Rourke

Alfred Pennyworth: Michael Gough

Ellen Yindell: Sienna Guillory

Green Arrow: Sean Connery

Very very good choices, especially Dafoe and Owen ( I can imagine him going nuts at Bruce, calling him "maniac" and thinking of "the way...things...are"). Guillory looks good as Yindell as well. I would have changed only Robin (with an unkown perhaps), Sean Connery with Billy Connoly (sp?Connely?) and Peter Weller for Bruce/Batman instead of Cage.

I never thought of Billy for Green Arrow, he'd also be a good choice, as would Peter Weller for Bruce, but I chose Nicolas Cage because since I read The Dark Knight Returns Nicolas Cage has been in my head for an aged Batman.

Thanks for the feedback  :)

As much as I've never thought of Nick Cage and Batman in the same sentence before, that could probably work.
