Chapter 44 - "The Eclipse, Part 1" - Discussion Thread 11/17/2008

Ok so I watched tonights episode again on G4 and when hiro and ando go into the comic book store on the wall there are a few huge 9th wonder comic posters and one cover has someone who looks like Nathan in a superhero costume flying! There was another of I believe a girl covered in electricity.

Maybe that's from when they get thier powers back. I'm glad Claire got shot. Someone needed to shut her up. I like the Sylar and Elle team up. It looks like Elle is gonna make Sylar a little bad again.

oh yeah, i forgot to mention... the Hiro being 10 is pretty lame too.

I've always hoped we'd get to see him become "future" Hiro and instead they've taken him in the exact opposite direction.

OK. If that Behind the Eclipse was accurrate, then I was right. Arthur does not steal powers leaving the othe rperson void of abilities unless he chooses to. That BtE said he was using the Haitians mind wiping power on Hiro. That would mean he had to copy the Haitians power in the past, but he obviously didn't completely steal it from him.

Thus it is also completely plausible that Arthur's telepathy is indeed from Maury.

As to Hiro's thinking he is 10, that seems clear now. Arthur was in the process of completely erasing his mind but then got distracted by the eclipse painting. So he only erased everything back to Hiro's memories at age 10.

Once again, if people stop having knee jerk reactions and flipping out, being patient shows that many of the "plot holes" are easily explained.

I simply don't understand why arthur didn't use linderman to heal himself and remain under the covers instead of staying in a vegetative state.

Linderman could only heal others though I thought. I didn't think Linderman could heal himself. So Arthur taking his power wouldn't have helped him.

I hate those behind the Eclipse's. They always try to be funny and never awnser a question seriously. Especially when they know they created a plothole.

I don't think Arthur needs the Hatian's power to make people think they're 10 years old. Telepathy will do the trick.

I think he knew that Linderman healed Angela, and therefore didn't trust him anymore. He was probably going to get revenge on him at a later time.

I like to think that it wasn't Adam that was running the Revenge Plot from Season 2. I think that Maury was working for Arthur from the Begining. Maury "mind-forced" Adam to get revenge on everyone for Arthur, so they wouldn't stand in his way later, then after he killed the rest of the original 12, then Arthur would have had Adam brought to him, so he can heal. But, through something that happened in season 2.5 (:whatever:), Arthur had to drop the plan for revenge (or he got as far has he wanted as Angela is the "last one") and rush his plan to develop a "team" or Army.

The catalyst has to be older than Nathan and Tracy...assuming they aren't going to just ignore logic and make it just Claire.

Someone from another board found a loophole when it came to Daphne: THe Haitain stopped her from using her speed earlier in the season and she was just fine...so it looks like the writers didnt really think out her secret until this episode.

I don't quite understand how super speed would fix muscular dystrophy anyway.

Also, wasn't the Haitian around Adam in season two? How come Adam didn't dust up then?

And if it really was another of Arthur's powers... how come they didn't make it more clear?

AS much as I enjoy watching the show, it is Heroes were talking about, which means a lot of plot holes.

But it used to have so much fun in season one figuring out why things aren't plot holes... now it is just point something out, get called a hater or a 'fan', asked why I still watch this show, and told it is just a tv show.

As far as Adam, I doubt The Haitain would turn off adams ability since there was no need to but if he did the ability was still there it was just dormant as to Arthur sucking it entirely out of Adam so his body had nothing to function off of.

Ah... that would still be the same result.

I believe The Haitian can only make one's powers less effective, while Arthur steals the powers completely.

Not my fault the writers havent been that clear..but when you do these kinds of things you have to take some liberties in some areas. People with abilities, their brains are a little different thus things have different effects on them possibly.
