Chapter 45 - The Eclipse, Pt. 2 - Discussion Thread 12/02/08

I'm calling BS on the Sylar killing Elle. He stopped halfway through the slice and she wasn't even screaming like a regular victim.

Until we see what he does with the body next week = BS.

As of now, I can't say I find any of the characters likeable or entertaining...I used to love Hiro, Parkman, Sylar...but now...I'm very dissapointed in the way this shows turned out. I had such high hopesin season one. Maybe it can redeem itself next season...

It is odd but fans are complaining that the development that they were getting in Season 2 and the beginning of this Season was wretched like Sylar for instance. Now it seems they are going back on what they were building on by tearing it down and starting over again to please the naysayers which is hurting the show even more.

I honestly thought Sylar's development was the best aspect of the season. Sure, the hunger was stupid...I'd rather him be responsible for his sins and have to atone than have responsibility lifted from him...but still...his development was the one solid aspect of this season. Then the second he finished saving Peter from Arthur, they entirely turned it around. I feel bad for Quinto. He is so damn talented, but being so damn limited by the writers.

Hiro wouldn't put Elle in a situation where he knows she would die...he was trying to stop death.

I think she just resigned herself to her death at the hands of the monster she made.

Papa Petrelli summed up perfectly what this little arc was about. A lot of you seem too deep into this whole "bad writer" non-sense or keep looking for excuses to really take the time to enjoy what is happening. Same goes for those who are defending the show to no end. Has the show been bad? Yeah, its been off and on, what show has never been subject to any of this? In all honesty I think this season has been great thus far, and I've been able to follow everything just fine. Is it perfect? Far from it, but the amount of cynicism from people who are so focused on the bad is pathetic, as is those who will totally ignore the bad.

This is so frustrating!!

I want to punch somebody!!

Kill Maya, not Elle!

So we need a three episode arc, which really has no long term consequences, in order to rewind the show? Yeah, I call bull ****.

Hiro should have taken them back a few hours just before the start of the eclipse.

This was a great episode.

Sure, if you're into serials...shows that by definition are always supposed to be moving forward, completely rewinding its plot and undoing half a season.

And this season has been the s**tiest season ever...

That's why I stop watching a few weeks ago (since then ratings are downhill), I knew it was going to get worse and worse...

I really kind of wish they just went and made them actual super heroes from the start. Like...saving people...maybe have a team. Sure it could have been corny but I feel like it would be much more fun to watch.

I really kind of wish they just let Nathan announce that he had super powers... then we'd be getting a better storyline than the formula.

I wonder I'd there is going to be some Back to the Future moment where the only reason HRG cares for Claire so much is because they went back in time and they had a "moment". That would be both cool and lame.

well, I don't know, I liked the original premise of the show, ordinary people with extraordinary powers.

Ok Matt, We get you don't like this season, but you don't have to blast anybody who doesn't agree.

Matt you speak like you always know the answer to everything. How do you know there are no long term consequences? What has been rewound? I mean, from this episode we dive deeper into Peter's character to be a true hero, we get how Nathan is blinded so much that he seems to be the ultimate device that will allow the "bad" future to occur, we have Claire coming to terms even more with herself and realizing what it truly is to be "special", etc. I could go on about what I gathered from this episode and how it reinforces things, hurts things, sets up future events, but it seems like many people here just ***** ***** ***** without taking things for value, or taking things too literally. The shows fan base has a become a two sided battle in which I feel I stand in the center. Then again, as mind boggling as it is to see how both sides have been reacting to the good and bad, all that really matters is that I have been enjoying the show and haven't gotten caught up in this too deep. To each their own.
