Chapter 46 - "Our Father" - Discussion Thread 12/08/2008

Why exactly would a bullet to the head kill Arthur. When the Haitian leaves and his powers turn back on, won't he heal since he has Adam's powers?

Why do I get this strange feeling that the Haitian will die sometime this season.

I don't think the writers remember who Adam is

Notably, there was a final shot Jeannot designed for this scene that ended up being cut out. It was a huge crane shot that swooped away as Sylar stood over Elle’s burning body. (See pix below) I remember the script read: “Sylar stands on her burning body. A tinge of remorse. Giving Elle far more respect than any of his previous victims.” Anyway, the shot was very dramatic and I found it very haunting, almost beautiful. But the network standards and practices people and even Tim Kring thought it was too disturbing. So we cut it - and ended up playing the scene on a simple close up Sylar. This works too. I don’t know, maybe America’s not ready for full-on immolation. I like weird disturbing stuff sometimes. I remember reading that one of the techniques of the Hindu and Buddhist priests in India is to go to the pyres where bodies are being burned and meditate upon them. These novices sit for days this way. The idea is that in fully experiencing death in this way they learn to accept their own mortality and hold a looser grip upon life... But, whoa... I digress.

I'd have loved to see that whole scene as it was intended.

Why do they always use those wierd enlongated barreled guns?

Is it me, or is Peter being upset at killing his dad, stupid...

It's almost as if Peter just lost all his memories of this season involving his father...

Man, a lot of these plotlines would work better as stand alone episodes.

Not if the bullet is still lodged in his brain. Remember the stick in Claire's head and the piece of glass in Peter's.

It really was such a waste. I'm still pissed off.

What pisses me off more is that she dies, adam dies, but maya lives?

Fear not, knowing these ass backwards writers, she will be given Claire blood by the end of the hour.

I'm in the same boat. Characters that had potential die and yet a character that literally eats the background continues to pop up for Mohinder as the writers feel the need to bring her in.

So now Nathan is a power hungry politician. The apple does not fall from the tree

Wouldnt have made Elles death anymore meaningfull imo.

yes, die for what you did to Elle, bastard!

I really hate Nathan, he's a idiot

Can't wait to see how Hiro & Claire **** up the past only for the writers to forget about things when it suits them

So Peter is not only expected to launch a two man assault on Pinehearst, he is also expected to take the body out to make sure none of the hundreds of Pinehearsts' soldiers and employees remove the bullet? That is Angela's plan.

Isn't she supposed to be smart?

Picking powers?

Alright Heroes.... stop trying to be the 4400. Your rules setup over the first season don't allow it.

And Chad Faust is in this episode... is that supposed to be like the wink that means the Heroes are making an homage to the 4400?

Claire meets her past time mom? Oh vey, I bet she's going do something to change the future

Hopefully Fuller kills Sylar in the season finale. I am tired of him. Quinto is awesome but the character sucks
