I don't think neither BB or TDK suit is fantastic, but they are both good and have their own pros and cons. A mix of them for TDKR would have been awesome.
I actually wouldn't mind TDK suit if the legs were more streamlined(like the BB suit), and the awful looking gloves and gauntlets were changed back, as well. Oh, and a bigger bat emblem.

Screw it, just put him back in the BB suit....

I'm a little dissapointed in Bale's perfromance thus far in the series. The voice was a misstep, period. It's OK to fine in some scenes but in others it's damaging.

Admit, as much as people Lust for Conray for the his bat voice, I highly doubt anyone would apreciate it in a movie. Hearing Conroy as Batman in these series wouldnt come off right imo. The growl works with the persona of the person playing him.

Thus far in the series? Your a little late with this complaint :funny:

Begins suit was better... but he just couldn't turn his neck. :csad:

It's really not so much the growl as much as it is a growl not done well. If any of the vocal choices a performer makes detract from a scene then that's not good.

I prefer Conroy's voice. I prefer his voice to any of the vocal performances of the live action Batmen.

Your only complaint is the voice? Weak argument.

I think TDK voice, maybe just a little difference. In trailers and tv spots he has more growling sound than raspier. I just don't hear anything to think that he has BB voice.

That's because he doesn't. It's the TDK voice again. Unmistakably.

With your help I might" is the only Bats line we have heard from TDKR[/B] I'm not that fond of so far, guess it might work better in context though.

I just hope we get a moment like "SWEAR TO ME!" and "WHERE IS HE!" in TDKR, full-on angry Bats with super-growl. :awesome:

Overall I heart Bale's Bat-voice, always and forever. It's bad-ass to me.

Don't forget the line from trailer 3 ''Not everything..not yet''

While the voice is definitely part of the performance, it's shame that Bale's entire portrayal of Bruce/Batman in the series (heck, even as an actor) is overlooked and underappreciated by the GA because of the Batvoice. The sad part is, it's not even fully his fault. I feel like even if he gives the best performance of his life in TDKR, it will be overlooked again because of the Batvoice. :funny:

When he's just having a one-on-one conversation with someone? Yes, yes I would. The only time it works for me, is when he's in interrogation mode, any other time, he needs to take it down a few notches. I seriously had no complaints about it in BB, then TDK came out, and it seemed like he was pissed off at everybody he was talking to.

Batman: THURNKZZZ FURR DA NEW SURT!!!!

Lucius: No need to be sarcastic, I did the best I could to make a lighter suit for you.

Batman: NURRRR, I MEARRN IT!!!!! THURNKZZZZZ!!!!!

Lucius: Alright, jeez. Just calm down....

Batman: I URMMM CURM!!!! URMMM NOT MADDD, BURT NOW URMMM GURTTING MADAEPEMPDAMPDPEA!!!!!!!!

I also find this really depressing.

LOL.....I registered just so I could comment on this.....why the hate for the Bale bat voice? How should it sound? The Conroy voice is great, but it's a cartoon. It would not work in "real life", ie, a movie. He needs to disguise his voice and inspire fear. This is how he does it. I think rumblings started about the voice when TDK came out and now it's spun out of control. Are there times it doesn't sound great? Sure! The last speech to the Joker comes to mind, but I also think he was trying to convey a sense of being battered and exhausted. I actually prefer TDK voice to the BB voice, but that's just my opinion; I prefer TDK suit to the BB suit also. Doesn't stop me from thinking Bale is the best Batman we've gotten so far.

Exactly. That voice sounds like Old Spice Guy (generic cool guy voice) in live adaptation. (for Nolan's movies)

I don't wanna hear this in Nolan's movie (probably he thought same and they go with Bale's raspy, growling voice)

If WB try to do Zakk Snyder type of Batmovie for next reboot, that might fit in.

I like you.

Welcome aboard

It was Nolan's responsibility to reign him in. I suppose he didn't because he didn't want Christian to second-guess himself and deliver a less 'present' performance. To impart some balance, I should say that I did like aspects of Bale's portrayl.

Conroy's voice is awesome. But yeah, why would I want it in these movies?

But the battered and exhausted thing worked better in the last scenes with Two Face holding Gordon's family hostage and right before Gordon's epic speech at the end of the film.

Edit: Welcome to the boards!

I say this as big fan of Nolan but IMO he should definitely take part of the blame specially if it was altered in post-prod and even IF it wasn't, it's Nolan's job to tell him what works and what doesn't. I understand giving your actors free reign but you should be able to enhance their performance and not deter it. But Nolan never gets any flack for it because it's just so much easier to blame it on the actor.

ETA: Welcome Darthhawkeye!

I respectfully disagree. :yay:

The Conroy voice would work in live action. Plus, for all of Bale's efforts, what he came up with just isn't intimidating. It doesn't work. It doesn't sell it. I'm not trying to be contrarian or rude. It's just that it doesn't acheive what it sets out to do. It disguises his voice, sure. It doesn't inspire fear, though. It seems effortful. I think that it works okay at times. In BB it was fine. At other times, not so much.

True.

Another great example of Bale's Bat-voice working is when he's at Dent's hospital bedside and puts the now half-scarred coin on the bed try.

"I'm sorry Harvey..."

God, I love that!

I think the voice is scary, more so in context, but in a real life setting that would freak anyone out if they were walking alone in a dark alley at night. I mean, c'mon man, how is not intimidating when he shakes down Maroni and Flass?
