I've never seen the Dr. Who show , but it's on my bucket list of things to watch.

Jk... Never saw any of it.

There's even a new Dr Who. I feel so left behind.

I confess I feel perfectly fine not getting into Doctor Who. I can't imagine going though all those episodes.

He's sort of like Bond. There's a different Dr Who for each generation. I thought about starting at the new one , but that would feel wrong.

Me and my mom went through them over the course of a few weeks (with not much else to do), I stopped watching after Tennant was done.

I initially felt the same way when I first got into Star Trek with the episodes & different series, but I enjoyed all of them & just started to grind through them, in the case of Doctor Who, just not interested. **shrugs**

I'm getting very tired of being flat broke at the end of every week.

The only time I ever went back and watch the entire series was with Curb Your Enthusiasm...and that's only because I saw one of the later seasons first and instantly fell in love with it. I don't think I'll have the same feeling with Doctor Who though.

I confess, my time in the office and seeing all these documents they print, followed by thinking of those environmental protection buffs and those campaigning for saving trees got me thinking
Maybe their purpose would be better served if no papers were used for movie scripts, initial drafts of scripts, novels, comics, animation art, game art, and all those entertainment stuff

My latest random thought

Lots of people talk about feeling like they need to start from the beginning, but that's pretty much impossible with the Doctor Who franchise. Not only is there a total of 33 seasons to get through, but a good portion of the episodes from the 1960's are just gone. Nobody's seen them since they first aired. The studio isn't holding out on viewers or anything; they just got lost, destroyed, or taped over.

And anyway, the show is structured in a way that allows new viewers to jump in every couple of seasons. Whenever the actor playing the main character pulls a James Bond, or whenever his plucky young sidekick gets swapped out for a new one, they tend to introduce the whole concept of the show all over again.

Yea, I started with Nine and the one time I tried watching an episode from Dr Who classic there was too much going on for me to rally watch

Oh yeah, and the classic show is pretty difficult to watch by today's TV standards. If the current show has ADHD, then the old show is too stoned to function. It moves a lot slower, and every episode is a multi-parter. I'm talking 4, 5, 6 episodes just to tell a single story. One story from the mid-80's took 14 episodes to tell. That's 13 cliffhanger endings in a row just to get to the point.

That works. I've been interesting in seeing the David Tennant era , but also Eccleston's. I've read about the show in SciFiNow , but didn't know there were so many lost episodes. I understand they had no idea how technology would progress , but it's a shame they didn't preserve the episodes.

Yeah, the classic season 3 is missing like 32 out of its total 45 episodes.

Like I stated earlier, I jumped in with the 11th Doctor. I've watched a couple of the 10th Doctor episodes but I don't feel like I missing anything.

With the economy being what it is, neither will they.
True, I recently went to a 5-year High School reunion thing where most people there graduated on time a year before me, and they're all just as bad. Most are still jobless and living with their parents, which sadly seems to be the norm nowadays.
Aim for something, work for it, you can make an achievement using something you didn't take courses for in college
Look at Bill Gates
Yeah, with the way things have been, and how my interests have been changing, I almost feel like I wasted my time in college doing art since I most likely won't be using that for a career at all. At this point it seems like its just a hobby.

I started watching Dr. Who yesterday since I just got Netflix. I'm starting with the 2005 reboot, I think it's the 9th Doctor?

I confess I have a friend who has been dressing up as Spider-Man ever since he got the costume for Halloween and it makes me wonder if there's really something wrong with him., especially since he wore the costume today at his graduation. I had a talk with him last summer because his girlfriend broke up with him and he blamed it on the fact that he was trying to be someone else.

They don't have any of the older ones, don't know if they are worth it though. The 2005 show seems like a nice jumping point, sorta like the new Star Trek movies.

They do have the older Dr Who stuff its on there as "Dr Who Classic" or something like that

They only have about 18 random stories from the old TV series on there, but they're all self-contained aside from Collections 10-13. Those are part of a season-long storyarc, and they only have half of it on Netflix for some reason.

Interesting, I'll have to check it out one day. Thanks for the info! :D

He wore the costume during graduation? There's definitely something wrong there. Sometimes I'd rather be Spider-man , but that's just not how to deal with a situation.
