I have a Expedit bookshelf from IKEA that separates my bed from the rest of the room. It's rather cozy. :yay: It's a little $$$ new but you can find used ones on Craigslist pretty readily.

I'm not a huge fan of partitioning rooms all the way up to the ceiling like that Roommate Blocker since I like some open space.

well, it's for my sister's house. She wants to split a room so that there's a guest room/place for their friend to live with them temporaraly. a full ceiling to floor divider would give a bit more privacy.

Ahhh. Then something like the Roommate Blocker might work, especially if you want sound privacy. I've seen some cool stuff where someone used a bunch of large frames hanging from the ceiling to separate a room but it was just sectioning off spaces, not actually creating privacy. There's also reeeeaallly large Shoji screens you could probably use in a pinch.

Wow, you are full of useful info! Lol, we'll probably just end up hanging blankets from the celing or something easy like that. It's only temporary for their friend, but then i'll use it i go visit them too.

That website I put up actually has some pretty nice-looking screens that they could use and stow away when not needed. I actually used to see them a lot in hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurants to hide unsightly things. :funny: Depends on how not-ghetto you wanted it to be, of course. :yay:

for the 1/4 price of some of those i could build them an opaque full size storable wall.

I like the tri-fold screens. pity they are usually to hide storage or things like that

maybe i can just freecycle for supplies and build the thing myself.

you know how to handle wood tools? (not a doubt, just a question to make sure you're going to be safe)

Can we rename the lounge?
I'm all for a rename.
Rename it "Confuzzled: Quantum 'Tusi."
Hell yes!
I have always wondered what "the razors edge" refers to? anyone?
Aside from us Tusi'ers having the best lounges ever created, there was a time when our lounge was banned due to some irresponsible posters.
i do not care for this new thread manager bot. i foresee a great influx of posts simply saying "subscribing"
Subscribing. :woot:
three votes for that
Make it four.
it is life. trying to figure out the best/easiest/coolest way to partition a room off so that it can be a bedroom/work shop. Know any cool ways to build a rather large room divider?
This is the way to do it.
My room drives ME insane sometimes so it driving others loco is a nice thought in a spiteful kind of way.
How does your room do that? Does it have a license?

no worries, i know a lot about these sorts of projects (well, book knowledge anyway, i haven't had an excuse to build one yet). But i'm a quick learner and really good with this kind of stuff.

TDKR related!

Batman>>Bond

I wonder if they would be friends

Table saws are effin' scary. But for an entire semester working in the scene shop at the theater dept, I didn't hurt myself on a saw or power drill. It was an orbital sander that took off a good chunk of my fingertip. :funny:

Miter saws are awesome. When I have a garage, I want a miter saw in it. :funny:

i've never gotten hurt by a power tool, but i can't pick up an x-acto knife without slicing open a finger
