Though, I think Liam H still makes a good point. Fox just doesn't seem to put out as many movies in IMAX.

This is true. But I think this came about when they saw how soft EOT was going to be. If the movie did great I don't think IMAX would mind them keeping it for three weeks before Trans4mers. So they just split the time with HTTYD2.

I believe the same thing happened to Pacific Rim last year. That movie had like 3 or 4 weeks of IMAX to itself but the audience was so little that they gave the screens to WWZ during its last week.

Its looking like a $6-6.3M weekend for DOFP. Over the past week and a half this movie has really developed some legs, that its on pace now for $229M and will most likely keep going up. Still not sure if it can catch TLS but it could get pretty close.

Do you guys think Maleficent and How 2 Train Your Dragon will eventuallyy outgross DOFP? I thought How 2 Train Your Dragon will surely outgross DOFP but seeing its 8 day gross so far, I'm not sure anymore. I think Maleficent could cross the $200 million mark in next 2 weeks but I hope it doesn't outgross DOFP.

Haven't really followed Maleficent but its holding up quite well that I think a finish around like $220-230M is in store.

Dragons 2 has no shot consideirng its gonna drop like 45-50% this weekend. That's gonna be like $170-190M finish. This movie pulled a Kung Fu Panda 2.

Thats good to hear, even if Malificent ended up outgrossing Days of Future Past, at least the most obvious choice (Dragon 2) to outgross DOFP will not end up outgrossing DOFP.

Hopefully by September, DOFP is in the top 3 highest grossing films of Summer 2014! Make it happen America!

You would rather the lesser received film score over X-Men? That makes zero sense and gives no edge to DOFP.

Dragon deserves more money then Malificent.

Maleficient is goingstrong while Dragons failed to meet its box office expectations. I would rather see the former outgross Dofp compare to the latter who will have a tough time outgrosssi g Dofp. Bottom line the lesser movies that will outgross Dofp the better. And all of people, you would know just because a film isnt so critically acclaimed it doesnt mean they wont perform well.

Maleficent is already doing well and no I dont prfer it to the other one. It could outgross Dofp or really get close to it. Again it has nothing to do with quality or else you would see me ranting why Dofp isnt the highest grossing of the year.
