Don't Hate The Hater, Hate The Hate! - - - Part 15

I don't hate anybody's mom.

Also where I come from, we spell it 'mum'. But now that I live in Canada I tend to switch depending on who I'm typing to.

My ex's mom is a psycho and probably responsible for half of his own ****ed up issues.

There's always one parent who's the psycho.

I hate when a movie makes a lot of jump cuts to different angles during a fight scene. I can't see a damn thing when that's happening!

^ Not to go all Steve Jobs on you, but you're watching it wrong.

And it's almost always the mother. :o

Watch the fight scenes in Taken 2 to see what I'm talking about. There's no way to really tell what's going on, and it makes my head hurt watching all of that.

I think I know what you're talking about, I think they used the same shooting techniques for the Bourne series. I don't like it, I think they also used something similar in The Hunger Games.

The Bourne fight scenes did have that shaky cam in the second and third one. I really don't know why directors think that's cool. Fight scenes are so much better when you can tell what's going on like in Bruce Lee's movies or Merantau.

They want to add that chaotic feel, so that the audience feels that the hero has a lack control over the situation. It worked perfectly in Saving Private Ryan, less so in many movies after.

I couldn't agree more. Ever since the early 2000's (see: Gladiator) some director's have decided it's awesome to shove the camera right in the middle of a fight. To me it just looks like a bunch of blurs on the screen, which isn't cool at all. Like you, I want to actually be able to tell what the heck's happening.

I think the purpose of shaky cam is to replicate how we would actually see the fight through our own eyes or something like that. It's still not an excuse as to why they won't let us see the whole fight scene.

the shaky cam works in situations like Private Ryan where you can't see the bullets anyway, and everyone is running around. It adds to, and puts the audience in the middle of, all the chaos. We actually see pretty much what everyone sees. Bullets and bombs striking the ground and people around.

In fight scenes, it fails because you HAVE to be able to see what's going on. What's the point of choreographic a fight if it's completely unintelligible to the viewer? You can shake a little to add to a chaotic fight, but they think it doesn't work unless they go nuts with it.

Just look at A Good Day to Die Hard for absolutely unnecessary camera movement and editing.

i hate how hard some fans are to please sometimes.... like take spiderman for example

- Original Spiderman movies "the suit is perfect, its amazing, nothing will come close"

- The Amazing spiderman suit is revealed "OMFG the suit sucks, it's too different has no belt, the glove suck, its made of basketballs, the eyes are too small and piss stained"

- TASM is released "I love the new suit now, its better than the raimi suit"
- TASM 2 says it's goin for a more traditional look "omg i can't wait to see it"
- TASM2 suit is revealed: "Omg i hate it its the raimi suit with bigger eyes"

I hate how there seems to be a red carpet party for any insignificant event, I understand it's normal for movie premieres and award shows but then you got stupidity such as video game releases, Iphone releases and even DVD/BR releases where all the reality show D-listers can strut their 15 minutes of fame.

Your mistake is going into the Spidey forums. The reception for the suit has been nearly universally praised to me.

The Spidey Boards are becoming rather loathsome. But I still think they haven't exactly hit the Bat Boards level of crazy when it was at its peak.

I hate those red carpet fashion shows they have right after an awards show.
