I'm saying did everyone need to make a comment about psylock comments? Talk about piling on Jeez

Think of it as an intervention, we're trying to help him overcome his Foxholm Syndrome. It's a bigger issue than the media lets on.

The bottom line is,why on earth would you want to settle for the crap Trank/Fox seems to be offering, when you can have them at Marvel, who has a proven track record with all their properties-from the sublime to the ridiculous?

You have to admit:

.......is a pretty strange statement.90% of this forum doesn't want this film made, let alone a sequel.

By your estimation I am in the 10% that's wants this made lol. I want a good fantastic four film though if it's crap I'll call it that. I'm excited by the people behind the camera and in front. The cast outside of Mara do not look like their comic counterparts but they are phenomally talented. Teller in whiplash is getting raved reviews it also recently won a international award for best film. Jordan was nearly and probably should of been nominated for an oscar. I am more of a fan of good cinema than the characters .

Interventions are held by loved ones to help someone. That is not what I would call it, it was just shaming another person.

I'm a fan of good cinema as well. But while I love The Godfather, Psycho, Jaws and The Bridge over the River Kwai, let's face it: They were AWFUL Fantastic Four movies.

Don't worry Paradox, I got used to it. And some of those users who responded to me are already in my block list. So even if they make a comment, I won't be responding.

Foxholm Syndrome? Thats a smart comment coming from a poster who recently joined the forum, huh

Ha, thanks for the chuckle. :)

But those movies weren't intended to be Fantastic Four movies.

I'm not settling up for that the crap Trank/Fox yet, because I haven't seen how crappy it is. It could be a bad film or good, we don't know yet. But right now, I'm giving it a chance to see it just most of you here, even if you just watch a bootleg of it online or wait for HBO to air it. And we would be waiting forever for Marvel to produce a Fantastic Four film because it ain't happening anytime soon, maybe in the next decade.

How about this instead....let's act like reasonable civil posters and allow someone to state an opinion that differs from yours without having to endure endless petty attacks for stating it......bullying, it's a bigger issue than the media lets on.

It's simply smart. See my post on the previous page for a description.

Don't you think the sock accusation as soon as you're bested is a little played out? I can assure you this is my first and only account here, though I've been using the handle over on KMC for around 4 years.

based on the total lack of hype for this movie, it won't break $100 mil domestic unless it has very strong word of mouth. the movie will have to be really good otherwise this might be the biggest comic book movie flop in the past 7 years.

Here's the problem for Fox, and I'll use Ant-Man for a comparison because it's been brought up before.

Two productions that have been controversial (for somewhat different reasons), and both going in directions away from the source material.

Here's the big difference though. Fox has given people ZERO information to change their opinions, which have been overwhelmingly negative. Whereas Marvel has opened up the book, and even created a fun spot for Comic con, even though it wasn't footage that was going to be used in the film. All of the actors have been very vocal about the project, and Peyton Reed has been an open book, especially with the departure of Wright and the scrutiny.

With FF, you can not get more polar opposite than that. It's been an absolute PR disaster that Fox has pretty much ignored. The only thing we've gotten is some bad leaked material on set, where it was all green screen, so who knows how it's going to look, other than Doom looks like a cross between a mummy, a Dark Elf, and little red riding hood.

For those saying, "I'll wait until they show me something before making a judgement," you should be asking, what's up with them not showing anything?

It's the only legit card they have left. Even more so now that they've pushed back the release date which gives them more of an excuse for likely being a no show at NYCC next month. No studio or production company who's confident that they have goldmine on their hands would be this tight lipped about it.

Not to mention not confirming the actual name of the film (The Fricked'up Four?) or constantly pushing back the release date.

Your comparing apples to oranges, similar in regard to they are both films but totally different in every other regard. This is an adaption and like all adaptions there are changes made. Marvel's Thor the character is an adaption of pre existing mythology. Not everyone is happy about the way Marvel adopted that character. Some people find it offensive that a Viking dresses like a knight. We however accept that Marvels Thor and Thor the mythological figure are distinctly different.

(sigh).....It was a joke.

Admittedly, I am spoiled. We've gotten so many fantastic interpretations of comic book characters and beloved story lines in TV and film, that I have no interest in a FF film featuring a cast that bears no resemblance to the team whose adventures I grew up following in The World's Greatest Comic Magazine.

I simply don't care if Trank is able to take three dudes born within one year of each other, including a slight Ben Grimm, a young Reed Richards, his girlfriend Sue and her African American half-brother Johnny and turn it into cinematic magic. I want to see a Fantastic Four film that is respecful of the classic team AND manages to be a great film. I know it's possible, and it's a damn shame we're not getting it.

Funny thing is that Fox-men fans will praise Singer when he doesn't deviate too far from cannon and give us the bare minimum that the X-franchise has to offer but even that is still miles ahead of what Fox is doing with this reboot.

Yet people still expect everyone to fall in line due to DOFP's success despite the fact that Trank and Co. aren't even following any of DOFP's footsteps.

Elektra's footsteps, maybe.

You're not spoiled; the bar has been raised. Thirty years ago you would have accepted an overweight, rattling, sedan with poor handling, soft suspension, poor gas mileage etc. because that was the way cars were back then, but this is 2014. We've seen how good it can be and we don't want to go back to characters that only vaguely resemble the ones we want.

Exactly,Willie,great way to put it.

Wondering why Kinberg is doing interviews about AoA that isn't even close to beginning to film while his other film, with this great cast and future star director is even mentioned in passing in the article? Fox publicists who sit in for those interviews would clearly mention it to a journalist interviewing a guy who is being seen as a big time comic film talent.

I'm not even talking about the video link, it wasn't even in the text below it.

I must ask those who are excited about this film: Does nothing seem odd to you about the marketing of this film? The slow burn strategy doesn't hold much weight when Fox's other Marvel property future films in 2016 (Deadpool and AoA) are beginning to leak out information.

To all, on a scale of 1-100, what are the chances somebody at Fox is talking to somebody at Marvel about a way to work something out? I don't even mean top of the ladder executives, I mean those who help influence what the big wigs do.

Could a secondary reason be a stealth negotiation? I don't think that's necessarily the case, but hypothetically speaking, what if this movie is halfway in the can and it gets shelved? Would you be happy? devastated?

Right now, Marvel wouldn't be interested in talking. They have enough projects on their plate, that anything to do with Fantastic Four, should they get the right's wouldn't even take place before 2020.

Plus GOTG's success really mitigates any importance for FF as a film franchise for them at the moment.
