I don't think reshoots can save this movie if it's that bad

I'm expecting even less promotion now

There is a way to save this production which I've thought of. Create a frame around this film about the making of a superhero movie. They can have the cast shoot some additional footage where they're acting against the director who will be played by an actor resembling Trank. It can show them butting heads with him and sitting around bored (although that doesn't require reshoots if they had just filmed them sitting around bored in the first place).

They can remove references to the FF and just call it something else so that it is a generic superhero movie and the whole thing can have some kind of meta feel to it. That way Fox could still release this thing, use the original actors and pass it off as something else even if the rights were to go back to Marvel. They could call it "Tranked" or "Nothing left in the Trank" or "Tranksgiving" or "Peace and Trankquility."

I'm still calling bull. Didn't like a week or 2 ago they moved up the release date for FF2? Yea unless they never saw a second of what Trank was doing, there is no way they would not only give it a second but move up the release date for it.

Even if it's true, Marvel won't get the FF rights. Fox did the same thing in the 90s. All Fox just kept the rights for 8 more years. They won't ever give it back to Marvel.

Not trying to hate on Fox or the MCU but it's just business.

BC never backed down. They said they couldn't reveal their sources but that they had spoken with two directors who were approached to replace Trank and that if Fox didn't want the rumor to spread then they needed to stop approaching other directors. I never believed Fox's denials for a moment. I agree that everything that has transpired since falls right in line with this.

Well they probably wanted Chronicle 2, and then realised fans didn't want Chronicle 2.

It makes their comments irrelevant if reshoots happen, otherwise it just confirms their comments that this really is exactly like Chronicle.

That's a bit late of them to realise it now. Fans have been saying that since the beginning. What made them sit up and listen now?

And does that mean that if it's not like Chronicle now, then will both Vaughn and Millar change their tune and say they don't like FFINO because they liked Chronicle, and it won't be like that now. How can those two possibly endorse it in the future when they've already endorsed it as being one particular way which fans will hopefully like because of the similarity?

Every single MCU film was critically well received and every single MCU film was positively received by the general audience. My personal least favorite, The Incredible Hulk, is still a really good movie. I just think it's less good than some of the others.

As for this Millar nonsense, it's telling that yet another producer on the film finally chimes in and compares it to Chronicle. Anybody over in the positive thread that's still denying this is going to be Chronicle-like (or as I like to call it, Chronicle 2: Fantastic Four 0) really needs to question why they think it won't be a rehash of that film.

I mean Pixars movies were in the 90s on RT until Cars but was still 11 movies in before a rotten movie. AOU will be MCU's 11th movie. Hopefully Ant Man isn't Cars 2.

None of that means anything. That's just a placeholder. If they were really confident in FF2 they would have locked Trank down for that as well and they have not. ASM2 had an announced sequel and we see where that went. Actually there have been many films that were supposed to get sequels and never did.

There are probably more announced films that never happened than there are films that actually got made. Spider-Man alone has more announced films than released films.

I don't think there has ever been any confirmation on the trailer, it all just seems to be speculation that a release with the Kingsman would "make sense" but who knows. And if there are extensive reshoots being planned then that could be a problem for it depending on how much changes are planned in the reshoots.

Maybe they'll become the FF only after the end credits, so that if you don't realise you have to stay for them, then you'll never actually see them become that team.

You'd need the action setpieces from these reshoots as money shots for your first trailer though. It'll be a tougher sell if they just opt with a character trailer.

And afaik we don't have actual confirmation on the release date of the trailer, just speculation. There hasn't even been any classification yet.
