Cap 2 did 259 million in North America so yeah it's over Darth's benchmark.

"If you like Sound of Music, you're gonna love Deadpool!"

I know this is not your intent. . . but I would *love* to see a marketing campaign for a Deadpool movie that used that exact line. it would be followed immediately by a scene of Deadpool, singing ( badly ) "The hilllls are alllliveeeeee. . .!!", while prancing about the bucolic European countryside, shooting Nazi-standins.

I honestly just want this to come out so the origin story can be over and done with. Alfonso Cuarón should direct the sequel when we can see an already assembled FF with comic accurate costumes take on cosmic threats with the power of SCIENCE! That's all I ask for. I guess I'm stuck waiting until 2017.

Here's how I'd handle FF2. I'd start the film off in Roswell 1947 when a flying saucer crashes and Uatu is reimagined as a grey alien (still in his uatu garb, he just has a skin change to make him grayer) who is captured by the United States government. Fast forward to today where Uatu is assisting the military with an engineering project then suddenly stops in place and all that Uatu says is, "he's coming." Cut to New York City where Reed and Sue are getting married. At the reception, they are whisked away by government agents.

Meanwhile, the Silver Surfer has come and he's characterized as equal parts Southern Preacher and aloof alien overlord. He sings the glory of Earth's destruction at the hands of Galactus who is infinite is his power. For it is an honor for our world to be chosen for annihilation at his hand. This time around, Galactus wouldn't be a cloud, he'd be the version everyone is familiar with and the only word he speaks is, "Hunger."

You really expect Fox to go from hobo blogger Domashev who is right within their grounded and gritty vision to a full-on armoured giant Galactus as in the comics? If they're willing to go full out for all of that in the sequel, then why not do it now? Waiting until the sequel to try to be more faithful is like closing the barn door after the horse has bolted.

I remember a few weeks ago when the Trank house rumors started how since no one came out and denied it, it must be true, said many people on here.
Yeah well a lot of these rumors could be prevented if Trank proved he was....I don't know, still amongst the living?

It's only a project that can determined his future as a director.

The negative press alone could blackball him among movie goers.

How do we know that Trank is still alive? Maybe these reshoots are going to be like "Weekend At Bernies" with the Fox crew carting around a dead body just to give the impression that their director is still alive behind the scenes when really he managed to bite the dust when he was high trashing houses.

:funny:

Okay, that gave me a chuckle.

Please, somebody make a manip poster of Simon Kinberg and Miles Teller's faces over the leads faces with Trank's face as Bernie and name it, "Weekend at Baton Rouge."

Something tells me critics will like his movie because it's "different" from most superhero movies.

Yep you just won the thread.

I honestly think Trank was affected so badly by the negativity that he had to resort to "the good stuff". Damn shame, he seemed talented. In reality, he could be an addict in recovery.

DOFP opened amidst Singer's rape allegations.

Trashing a house is hardly bad behavior in comparison to movie goers.

In an effort to steer Trank away from similar widespread havoc like last time, the residents of the town where FFINO was shot have arranged a special relay race for directors in the hopes that Trank will pass the Batton.

Singer was a more proven talent in terms of the superhero franchise he's handling, there was no media blackout for DOFP prior and during the appearance of the allegations, and the controversy isn't as tied to his ability to make his film as Trank's are to his.

Sigh of course Josh Trank is still alive.... ugh crazy conspiracies.

No he's not. For the FFINO sequel, Teller and Jordan are going to go the "Weekend at Bernie's II" route and steal Trank's body from the morgue and then use a voodoo ceremony to reanimate him. However, they'll lose the chicken they were going to use and will have to make do with a pigeon, so that Trank won't be able to walk properly but will only be able to move to music. :o

Do you think this is official? I don't know much about Twitter, but I don't see anyone associated with the film following.

Probably hard to say atm, there have been more than a few fakes around with this production so I certainly wouldn't hold my breath that it is official. But we can wait and see, there doesn't appear to be anything else around like a website or facebook page that might indicate some sort of publicity campaign starting.

Again, I don't know much about Twitter (or how companies use Twitter for promotion), but I can't imagine the "Fantasticfour" name was floating around free. You'd think someone at Fox would have locked it up years ago, so that would seem to give it some credibility.

But since we don't know the title, Fox might intend to use that and may have released this one?

"Fantastic Four" was the official title of the 2005 film, correct?

Wouldn't this be called something different to avoid confusion with that film?

They can always call it "The Fantastic Four". That will make all the difference. :o
