Quite honestly, Rise of the Silver Surfer would've been an awesome movie...if they just...FREAKING...GOT GALACTUS RIGHT!!!!!! That's ALL they had to do!! Silver Surfer was perfect, the ominous build up to Galactus was done well, you really got this feeling that this powerful force was coming to wreck s*** and then.....a freaking cloud. Like COME ON man! How did they possibly think that was ok??

I took the movie and edited in a scene from the SILVER SURFER cartoon where the cgi Galactus is being defied by SS in the series, Galactus says something along the lines of "You dare defy me?"...and then go back to the movie. It's not perfect, but it helps.

One could edit in just about anything and it'd be better than their stupid space cloud.

As bad as RoSS was, I thought it was better than the first one.
The moronic bridge scenes, Sue undressing for no reason, Doom being a corporate *****e. Horrible FX...
That movie was so disappointing on so many levels.
At least Silver Surfer looked cool in the sequel.
But the movie was still horrible.

Except, the scene was SS going up to confront Galactus, and I intercut a scene of him interacting with a recognizable Galactus instead of just a cloud.

I did as well, until I re-watched it a few times, and I find myself enjoying the extended cut of the first movie the best.

I can't stand the Mr. Fantastic dance scene. It's so bad.

One of the worst superhero movie scenes ever, on par with the Daredevil playground fight and the multiple Spider-man 3 dance sequences.

Doom looked badass in ROTSS, though.

Yes, and then they ruined it with....

"Let's go for a spin....." :csad:

Where is Superhero dance off on that list? I liked that movie but that was the worst way to end a movie.

But he's the type of character who says "Marco... Polo" so that kind of dialogue is to be expected from him.

Something that would never fall from the real Doom's lips.

I expect Domashev will actually speak with internet abbreviations like "LOL" or "FTW" or "TTYL".

Has anyone actually heard someone say lol in real life when they find something amusing?

I've heard people say it sarcasically, but I'd like to think nobody uses it as part of their day to day dialect

I can't understand why people exclusively on SHH and CBM find that moment so bizzare. I found it very funny, but it didn't jump out at me as something out of tone for the movie -- maybe because most GA and I looked at it from, like, a movie perspective and not a traditionally superhero-structured, CB-adaptation perspective.

Ronan's reaction was the best part. "What... what are you doing?"

I was fond of Gamora's horrified refusal to join in, myself.

And I thought the scene was fine. It fit with the tone of the movie and with Starlord's characterization as someone who liked music and dancing. The dance scene in RotSS was just uninspired, out of character drivel that was there to take up space.

BINGO!
That fit with the movie overall and with the character, but not with the FF movie and especially not with Reed.
If Johnny had done some goofy dancing it would have been fine because it fits that character.

"Is it true he can stretch ANY part of his anatomy?"

"Woooooooooooooo!!!!"

My ex.

I have friends that say LOL all the time.
They're in Argentina though and english not being their first language it was at first amusing for them to find out what LOL meant so now they're stuck with it as a joke..

It's pronounced "Lowell." :o

Neither film is even mediocre imo, but ROTSS is offensive in how bad it is, that I can't even watch it anymore.

None of those are even the worse scenes in their own movies, much less superhero films. For example, the death of the Green Goblin explanation in SM3. Now that is bad.

The funny thing, you expect that to come up at some point. After all, it is the oldest Mr. Fantastic joke in the book. But they couldn't have executed it worse. Well, they could have, but I don't want to imagine that.

Yeah, I really liked that and had no problems with it. Got a huge reaction out of my theater.
