Well, everyone wanted to see it in X3, but it didn't happen...

Well, there's still a chance to show it, and for it to fit within continuity as the incident that drove Xavier to install the blocks. It could also be a factor in the split between Xavier and Magneto.

Well, maybe in a short flashback among a group of flashbacks (of the main team) in one big sequence would be fine...it would be a good way of introducing the characters.

I actually like the idea of a new Jean Grey flashback since in X3, the flashback was not of her powers manifesting.

In X1 we got Rogue and Magneto and in Wolverine we got Logan.

Fassbender being confirmed has just upped my anticipation of this movie a lot, I was never that interested in a FC movie but everything I have heard so far sounds great, I just hope they can finish it in time, its a damn tight schedule they are running on.

I have a feeling Fox either cast or knows who to cast for certain roles. They are just playing with media to keep the movie even more interesting for fans and general public.

This film just upped a notch with Fassenbender. I can't really say the script was the thing that made him do it. He unfortuantely did Jonah Hex. But I'm pretty sure it's not gonna be that. McAvoy seems to have good enough sensibilities to join.

The other thing to take away from this cast is how these actors are still no household names.

It almost makes me anticipate that this movie will pull in a few heavy hitting actors soon in order to help sell the movie...

It's tough to say--it depends on how important he is to the story and also if they want to honor that brief cameo in X2...

I wonder what the opening scene would be? It would be cool to see both Eric and Xavier's childhoods. One is more positive, while the other negative. If they are following continuity for Singer's films, I'd be cool to see some kind of continuation of the concentration camp scene for Eric. But this time, he's finally set free instead of trying to escape. Then it be cool to see a Godfather Part II type of scene where Eric as a boy arrives to America and we see the Statue of Liberty, coming back to his quote in X1. "I first saw her in 1949. America was going to be the land of tolerance... peace."

20th Century Fox is setting Nicholas Hoult for the role of Beast in the Matthew Vaughn-directed X-Men: First Class. Hoult made his first screen impression playing the bullied school kid reluctantly adopted by Hugh Grant in About a Boy. But he has grown into manhood in recent roles that included A Single Man and Clash of the Titans, and he is also booked for the cast of the George Miller-directed Mad Max: Fury Road for Warner Bros. Latter film was pushed back, and so Hoult will first make X-Men: First Class. Hoult joins James McAvoy (Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Magneto) and Alice Eve (Emma Frost). Fox will cast up quickly as a production start is imminent. Hoult is repped by UTA and UK-based Independent Talent Group.
