Days of Future Past First Class Official Casting Thread

All the casting news of course...especially with Beast right now.

I'm a little reluctant, that's all.

Nicholas Hoult!?? **** YEAH! He's awesome.

With these casting choices, I'm really interested to hear who will be playing Jean Grey and Storm.

Me too, for me, Jean is gonna be the most important because she's my favorite character.

Does anyone know if they're going furry with Beast or not??

I'm curious to know if they're going to try to match their comic book counterparts or their movie counterparts. I was fine with Janssen as Jean Grey. Berry as Storm? Not so much.

Yeah, it's actually hard for me to picture anyone else as Jean but Janssen.

Good to hear the casting of Beast and Banshee. As it's on Deadline and Variety, we can take it as more or less confirmed.

Well yeah...just a little..

In relation to Johnson's age, Hoult doesn't exactly line up with Beast's quip to Wolverine, "I've been fighting for mutant rights since before you had claws"... but I'm okay with that.
 Who says there's an age minimum to "fighting for mutant rights"?

Also, why pay attention to such a horrible line? Beast just happens to know when Logan got claws (even though he was later found to be born with them), but doesn't seem to also know that Logan is like, 180 years old? I don't think it necessarily confirms Hank as being an "old man" in X3 either...

I would just ignore that quip altogether... :p

..and if you don't, we can assume that this movie will take place in the early 1990's (Let's say 1991). If we can assume that Beast is about 40 in X3 (2006), that means that he just needs to appear around 25 during this time.

Whether or not they portray Beast as a teen or a young adult is anyone's guess, but I think Hoult could pull off a young twentysomething.

(L-R) James McAvoy (Charles Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Erik Lehnsherr), Nicholas Hoult (Hank McCoy), Alice Eve (Emma Frost), Aaron Johnson (Scott Summers)

Uh, it depends on what you mean by "match"...

It's not like Halle Beryy is gonna be in the movie and they're gonna knock 20 years off her age or something..

I'm pretty sure they'll be conscious of both interpretations. The little girl playing young Storm in X-Men Origins seemed to share skin complexion and eyes similar to Halle's, so...

..if anything, they could take the opportunity to fool around with giving Storm blue eyes if they want... :p

Don't forget Caleb Landry Jones:

He's from Texas, though he obviously has some Irish in him.

Are you guys serious? Do you guys not realize the line was supposed to be SARCASTIC?!

Hot cast.
Anyone has pics of this Banshee kid??
