Days of Future Past First Class Sequel - July 18, 2014 - Part 1

YES!! she's my most hyped character in this new franchise

but Im afraid Fox will dissapoint me not including her in the next two movies, so I shouldnt expect her. sadly

I don't know. I didn't expect Banshee (another character I was hoping to show up in the movies at some point) to be in First Class, but surprisingly he was. So, if Fox can surprise me again, they will make me very happy:woot:

before all this Days of future past news, I really thought the sequel was the perfect time for Havok and Polaris, before they introduced Scott and Jean in the third movie.

But now, with such a complex plot, more past actors... I dont know how far they'll go with this new cast.

Only three movies seem very little.

Havok, Polaris, Banshee and Beast need a sequel to shine, before a sequel with Scott and Jean. and then we have Storm too...

too many possibilities for just a trilogy.

Unless people are cool with dropping the Magneto relaitonship ties, Polaris would be hard to explain in the 60s. Similar power that is only known to one Mutant is a lil to coincidental then say telepathy. She would have to be related to Mag unless her power is different. I guess shes unrelated in Ultimate comics, but I think just like if another character with Wolverine type claws was ever to show up in a film it should be explained why they have someone with such similar defining mutant power with a major character already in the film. Then again when it comes down to it, I think fans would be happy just as long as she has green hair and is with Havok.

If shes added in DOFP she can easily be put in the film as Mags Daughter in the future with her powers intact and possibly in more use. Polaris Vs Sentinels=Awesome. Explaining any children of main characters is alot easier to do in DOFP, IF they want to introduce them.

I agree, it skips a long period of them being born and growing up!

Id preffer a proper introduction of Polaris in a future sequel.

They can easily tell their connection in a few scenes. They dont need to add 5 new x-men each sequel, so if she's the main new character on a future sequel, they can spend some scenes telling their connection. Thats what movies do at the end of the day, to tell stories.

The x-men franchise has avoid all family ties, its about time they start doing it. Its a big franchise, they have time to introduce characters properly in each sequel.

How would you like to see it explained?

Yeah, I think its a tough sell writing them before they are teens/adults. Babies and Pregnant X Men are something I dont think people really want to see unless they skip alot of time inbetween.

Yeah thats what I thought too.

I think its gonna be confusing for the casual viewers, even if its an alternate universe. The reaction from the people would be "what? Magneto has a daughter?". I don't think they need to make Polaris as Magneto's daughter in the movie. Making her Havok's love interest would be easier, because they don't even have to explain why Havok and Polaris are a couple, they are just attracted with each other unlike with Polaris being Magneto's daughter.

As long as its written well, Im all for anything. Having another mutant with Magnetic powers is the only reason Im sketchy with Polaris. That use of power is already filled. I dont really see why people would be confused if Mags had a kid in an Alt future. I think people would be more asking "Why does that chick have the same power as Magneto?" if its not explained. Heard that with Azazel and Nightcrawler a few times, and they are not even in the same film. Personally Id rather see her as Mags Duahgter, but Im for anything.

I'd make Polaris the time traveller, Charles and the others are taken aback by her powers being similar to Magneto's, and in the final showdown between the X-Men and the Brotherhood where Polaris and Magneto meet, she reveals that she's his daughter.

Or, it's revealed earlier in the movie, but it's still unknown to Magneto.

that would be an interesting twist.

Or it could be too easy to guess the twist because of the similar powers? And the fanboys and geeks will already know Polaris is Magneto's daughter, so no surprises for them!

Id always preffer a more classic introduction from her. I dont know how she got introduced in the comics (still in early numbers) but Id like to have her on a sequel where she creates some havoc, the x-men recruit her, and later in the movie someone discover she is Erics daughter. Id like her to have a decent arc, like Rogue had on X1.

That's true, but there isn't much that surprises fanboys and geeks:hehe: The surprise would be for the GA who won't know who Polaris is and might find the similarity in powers to be a coincidence (like Charles' and Emma's telepathy), and the fanboys and geeks can get satisfaction from finally having Polaris in an X-Men movie.

I bet it's just him saying "Why yes, there is another X-Men film coming soon".

It has the feel of clutching at straws, of someone somewhere scrabbling for something original/exclusive to say. Seems a bit desperate!

I wonder if they will have him in it. How would they deal with having Stewart and McAvoy, and McKellen and Fassbender in the same film? Would that accentuate any non-similarities? Would they have to make them resemble each other far more with some digital trickery? It'd be great to see though!

Will he be CG in this one?

Stewart appeared in person in all the films, though with digital touch-ups in the opening scene of X3 and the end of XMO: Wolverine. He was never just CGI !!!

Yeah, I know. I'm just ****ing around.

I saw this from xmenfilms.wordpress.com

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS screenwriter Zack Stentz spoke last month at a gathering discussing superhero powers and how they relate to science. Stentz talked about the mutant Banshee and how his powers played a vital role in the 3rd act. He also revealed that Alison Blaire aka Dazzler was, at one point, being considered for the film!

“You remember about 20 years ago or so, when baby Jessica fell down the well and they found a guy who was born without shoulder blades and lowered him down the little narrow thing. It was like wow, that guy was waiting buy the phone for that call for so long and it finally came. Banshee was the man without shoulder baldes. He doesn’t really have a lot of use…he makes sound. But when we were designing the third act, and it was like Sebastian Shaw, the cool groovy dude in his cool groovy sub. They can’t find him, he’s down there somehwere…how they gonna find him? Wait, we’ve got a guy who makes sound. Drop him into the ocean and he’s a sonar bouey.’ He may not do much, but like Wolverine…does it very well.”

“We went through so many mutants.” he says. “There were so many different alternate universe versions of this, with any variety of mutants. But Banshee was in a lot of different versions, and he was doing things. At one point we had Banshee and Dazzler…because Dazzler could turn sound into light. An earlier writer – we took the idea from – the earlier writer had Banshee make intense sound and then she turned it into a laser…so that was really cool.”

Dazzler could have been awesome in the movie! :D

It would be great to see Dazzler, although it sounds like there isn't much room in the DoFP movie if, as we suspect, it's adding cast from the original trilogy to the First Class players. She'll just get lost in the mix!

Save Dazzler for if the series hits the 70's. I want the roller skates and everything. :D
