Well.....

There were plans to put Tommen on the Iron Throne prior to Joffrey's death, which eventually become moot once Tommen does indeed ascend to the Throne.

Myrcella was also set to become Queen of the Westeros thanks to the Sand Snakes of Dorne & the daughter of the Prince of Dorne.

Ah. Okay so they'll address that.

lol Rickon's just biding his time, blending in and such. it's all part of the plan

^ Awesome. I missed the very beginning of last night, did they say how much time passed b/t the end of season 1 and this season?

No they didn't indicate that. The wolves grow fast though.
Dragons are slower growers. They get about as big as dogs by book 3.

The big plot points in the posts above.
Im guessing episode 3 for Yoren and Episode 4 for Renly. Both may even take place in the same episode, which would really make for a great hour of television and get people riled up.

Have to say I find it hard to believe someone like Renly could get an army together.

^ Yup. The book explains how Tyrion is much more afraid of Stannis than Renly, even though Renly has the substantially larger army. Stannis is stern, stoic, very stuborn and a excellent military commander, while Renly is well liked because of his charisma.

Renly also was seated at Storms End, which is pretty vast and wealthy.

Varys put it best, "They are quite a pair, Stannis and Renly. The iron gauntlet and the silk glove."

I don't think the Stormlands were very wealthy but they do have very capable soldiers.

It seems I'll have to largely avoid this thread due to the perils of spoilery book discussion, but I'll just pop in to say that I loved the Game of Thrones Season 2 premiere. Even though it's been near a year since seeing the end of the first season, this episode did a great job of re-immersing you back in this world and catching us up on all the key players. It made it feel like it's never been away, but all the same it's great to have this show back.

I love last nights episode, but was I the only one what felt like I was watching a commercial for the rest of the season? I'm such an impatient person that waiting a week per episode is driving me buggy. They did lots of suggesting at whats to come. I guess I was just spoiled since I got into Season 1 after it all aired and I could watch the whole season in one sitting.

Ugh, how does anyone who Robert's bastards are? I mean lets take the prostitute for example. She's a prostitute which means she was most likely sleeping with alot of men. How the heck do they know her daughter was Robert's? How would she know?

The Baratheons have a very distinct look that anyone can spot quite easily. You know the expression "family cannot hide." Just like the Lannisters are (supposed to be) tall, thin, blond with angular features.

What Chicken said on top of the fact that for years John Ayrn knew everything Robert did and had a list of all the bastard sons he had. Remember Stark used that list to see what John was trying to discover. So the list is now in the hands of the Queen. So to me it was just connect the dots.

if thats the case than why didnt Robert realize that Cersei's kids, whom look NOTHING like any of the others, werent his?

Robert has been drunk for the past 15 years or so since coming to the throne. Also, it's not like Robert himself has even seen any of his bastards. He supported them, but Jon Aryn was the one caring for them. Heck, he even knew Gendry quite well, visited from time to time even.

Given he's drunk, never seen his bastards and just assumes the kids take after their mother. After all, the Lannisters (aside from the imp) look a whole lot alike.

Maybe they did. But in a country as head chop happy as Westeros, would you question the queen's faithfulness?

Arryn had a list, Gentry and some others were known, but how many other might Robert have fathered they didnt know about. Just to be sure, basically any child under 17 with black hair and blue eyes was pretty much done in for.
