In Sawyer's defence, he was being facetious. I'm sure he knows as well as all of us that there are at least 5 different things that could be going on back there (6 if you're in Canada, 7 if you're specifically in Vancouver).

Do y'all think the RW will be as a big of a shock as Ned's death? I'm not so sure it will be. They are practically screaming that Robb has screwed up, and that something bad is destined for him. Also, unlike Ned, Rob has had significantly less screen time, and isn't billed as the face of the show like Ned. Rob's death will most likely be viewed as "Well, he kinda had it coming." Whereas with Ned it was like "WTF they killed their main character in episode 9 of the show!!!" The RW is truly shocking, but in the show I'm just not sure it's going to top the sucker punch that was Ned's death.

I think it could be, but everyone is going to be expecting a big event, so they need to have something big before the wedding, like QueensCrown. Also if people get a feeling something bad might happen, I don't think they will appreciate how bad it will be. But that will only happen if they go as far as they did in the books (Cat clawing her face, mentioning for them not to cut her hair etc). I think maybe the shock factor won't be as big, but I think that plus the brutality factor will be huge.

HBO actually has a pretty big original movie. Behind the candlelaberra with michael douglass and matt damon. It's supposed to be quite good, they've been promoting it a lot and they probably feel memorial weekend's a good time to launch it.

There are only two episodes left so its not like there are opportunities for more breaks. They skipped a week because of memorial day, and I would expect them to do the same in the future seasons.

Its a holiday weekend. Its not supposed to be a regular thing. Next holiday wont be till July and the season will be done by then

Last year they had less than good ratings when they aired Episode 9 on Memorial Day. So they don't wanna air it again on that day.
