I haven't read the books, so this was a total mind**** for me.

Jesus...

Spoiler tag that!

as for Frey, **** him. You don't offer people bread and salt and then murder them. That is right uip there with kinslaying in Westeros.

To be fair, Rob broke his vow and compromised his honor first. Lord Frey is not the man to slight. Catelyn warned Rob on several occasions and he ignored her counsel each and every time. All is fair in love and war.

Yeah, me too. Rogue seemed so excited for Rob to own the Lannister's and didn't have a clue what was coming.:csad:

I kinda thought he might actually know what was going on, but was putting on a bit of a show. But if not, he's got to be in pain right now.

wowwwwwwwwwwwwww! aria so close but so far!i was told robs wife was not there in the book wonder why they changed that

Strategically, the RW makes sense. I could see some spiteful Northerners making an argument similar to yours. Thus, the North could fall to infighting between those who supported Robb and those who thought Robb was a terrible King in the North. Northerners dwindler their own numbers. Then its nothing for the Lannisters to head up there and consolidate their power, bringing the surviving rabble into line.

That's all irrelevant in westerosi culture. Frey allowed them in his house and commited to the ancient rituals of bread and salt. To the westeros that would be like me taking communion from the pope then slitting his throat. Its an insult to their gods, their culture, and the basic rules of hospitality. Past trangressions are put aside when you ensure a guest of their protection and give them salt and bread. Besides Rob's transgressions did not warrant this recourse. It was a political move through the most nefarious ways possible and the Frey's are rightfully shamed for it.

robb didn't know how pretty Rosalind was old walder only made one good looking daughter

I imagine the non book guys hate the Lannisters even more right about now

Fewer loose ends this way.

Is it wrong that I was kind of hoping they would edit things to make it seem as if the Hound killed Arya? That one gave me a scare in the books. It's the only time I flipped ahead looking for another chapter from a character's POV to see if they were still alive.

One of the hobbits is pledging himself to Danaerys' cause.

The only thing better than tonight's Game of Thrones are the Twitter reactions to tonight's Game of Thrones.

Generally speaking, they botched the RW on the show tonight, plain and simple.

-Grey Wind should have played out more like the book
- No Sandor Killing a couple guys(not yet at least)
- Robb's wife, it was an unexpected added and gruesome level of brutality that i wasnt expecting...it was unneeded and gratuitous. It was too much.
-didnt really portray the starks taking a few with them
The rest of the episode was great, but they really screwed up the wedding..

It seems Roose Bolton is working for the Lannisters, i assume Bolton and Frey become the Kings of the North, probably Bolton since Fey is so old.

In that case, they could deal with the fallout from tonight. Assuming there'd be infighting and mayhap civil war from the Northerners.

Strongly disagree. That RW was damn near perfect and the dialogue at the end was nearly verbatum.

Your points aren't even big deals. Why does Sandor need to kill people for it to be good? What happened with Greywind was better because it reduced budget, and it added to the cowardice of the Frey's. I mean if that is your two biggest complaints that is pretty weak.

you keep thinking that...The fans are already going nuts at how terrifically the whole thing was executed.

This isnt the book remember that, not everything it to a tee, if youve watched so far youd know that

Unfortunately, Rob made quite a few missteps during his tenure as King of the North. Initially, I was rooting for Rob as I was reading the books, but more and more I questioned his decisions.

As pointed out quite a few times...Rob was new and naive to the Game of Thrones and he was waging war against the Lannisters, one of the wealthiest, most renowned and diabolical houses in Westeros. So yeah, I agree with you...strategically it just makes sense for Lord Frey to betray him...all things considered.

Catelyn is awesome.
I'm slightly disappointed that I'll probably have to wait until next season for Lady Stoneheart.
I'm wondering if that's gonna be the closing image this season. Or maybe they'll go for something involving a wide shot like the last two.

I wish that Cat would have pestered Robb a bit about making sure he broke bread with Frey, like she did in the book. I also miss the badass (forget his name) taking out some Freys even though he was drunk.

Other than that, spot on.

For those that watched the show...Remember when Tywin brough Tyrion and Cersei to his table and he was writing those letters and stamping with Lannister seal?

Now you know why he is so boss

That's what I'm thinking, but I'd put what you quoted in spoiler tags for those who haven't read the books.
