Bringing up the soundtracks again (sorry, I'm a gusher when it comes to soundtracks I love), mainly because I've been listening to all 3 on shuffle during work and goodness knows they are helping me deal with this day. One thing I love about Ramin's work is his use of the strings (he seems to favor cellos a great deal). I had the track "Game of Thrones" (season 1) and season 3's "You Know Nothing" play back to back and I'm finding myself repeating the two. Very different uses of the string section between them, and both of them very stirring in the emotions they bring. "Game of Thrones" with it's forceful and slower verison of the opening title sequence. "You Know Nothing" with it's sweeping moments of hope but with a sad/melancholy feel behind it (this is one of the ones I remember really noticing playing when I did my re-watch of season 3 when Ygritte confronts Jon before he flees back to Castle Black)
Hope that made sense, anywho.. just throwing some thoughts out there as I anxiously await this work day to be over so I can go home and continue with my reading of Book 4 (I finished A Storm of Swords on Sunday)
