Assuming he lives long enough to write those last few books.

Get Thoros of Myr and the Lord of Light up in there and be like "Hahaha no, you're not getting off that easy, *****."

"Could you bring back a man whose heart exploded from Big Macs and Taco Bell? Just once, not six times?"
-"I don't think it works that way, child."

I caught the end of GRRM's segment on Conan. For what it's worth, he said the show has got him writing faster, and he's got 1500 pages of Winds of Winter.

Interesting. That's 300 less than what he anticipated in an older interview. Still, he ended up excising a considerable amount of material for the coffee table history book, which was also postponed (I had preordered it for November, but, it has disappeared from Amazon.)

Ah, so it'll be released sometime in 2017. Sorry, but fool me once. I'll believe he's been writing faster when the book is released in a timely fashion. This guy is worse with deadlines than Axl Rose. :o

OTOH, for what it's worth I did read that GRMM has shared the broad outline of the last two books with a couple of the show-runners behind GoT, so even if he was too slow to complete the novels on time or if he tragically passed, they could theoretically continue on based on his notes and guidelines.

Age-wise, I'm not too worried about GRRM. I mean, he's not even 70 yet.

He could probably do with a bit more healthy eating, though...

I'm looking back at the very first GOT thread here. Started when the series was put into development January of '07, had a few posts, and didn't pick up again until a pilot was ordered November '08. Thank God I had no idea about this series at that time or I would've been ****ing restless for that entire gap.

The casting suggestions are hilarious. Chris Carmack for Jaime Lannister!

I like them imagining what the HBO reaction to the "red wedding" will be. Topical!

Tyrion walked in on this as a kid, filmed it and put it on youtube. That's the REAL reason Tywin hates him.

No fault in being skeptic after what has been but I have a lot more faith in that he'll get the next books out in decent time than I had waiting for Dance. He wrestled with some very specific and unique problems with Feast and Dance and all those things are back on track now. The first three books were released in pretty timely manner.

The belly stabbing came as a surprise and might have been a little over the top (did they even know she was even pregnant)?

I think Walder Frey mentioned when checking out Talisa that he knows a woman inside out. So maybe he knew she was carrying a child.

I liked this re-edit:

Spoilers, obviously

Think it's pretty insane how much of an impact this "Red Wedding" has had...on viewers and others.

It might be silly to say, but I think storytelling in television may of been changed because of this.

I wouldn't be surprised to see more try to emulate what GoT did.
