The phrase "new friend" implies to me we may finally see Selina and Bruce interact.

That's what I'm thinking. At first I thought maybe Tommy Elliott, but after giving it some thought, that was referred to by the producers only as a reference/easter egg, so I'm thinking either Bruce or Alfred might mention him by name as one of Bruce's school friends.
