three more good things about this show...

the British contingent of actors in this show...

Colin Salmon as Oliver's mother's new husband...

Paul Blackthorne as the lead cop assigned to the Arrow case...

and John Barrowman from Torchwood as a recurring regular in future episodes...

three DAMN fine actors...

I loved it. As a Green Arrow fan I think this is a great start to his career. The treatment of Drakon, one of my favorite Green Arrow villains, irritated me but I'm hoping that was just Constantine's brother or something and he'll come for revenge or something. I want to see some Arrow catching and suaveness here. Ollie himself was great, as was Dinah and the rest of he class. I see Merlyn already behaving shady so I'm curious about his future as Ollie's rival archer.

The action was superb and I'm glad I have another action show besides Nikita and Supernatural. I really cannot wait to see Deathstroke on here but great start.

The pilot was good, I'll definately be back for more. Liked the parkour action. Liked that he didn't just knock guys out or put them in sleeper holds.

We'll see if it can get the Smallville treatment and become a household name. Not like, run for ten seasons and get nowhere.

I like it. I enjoyed the premiere as did my sis.

The test comes in the next 3-5 eps if it has longevity. I think it has all the makings of a show that could have a good run.

I loved that one point when he was chasing the thug...and he jumped...the intensity in his eyes...I like that the actor is truly into his character.

I hope the show see some seasons. I'll be watchin'.

If this show runs for ten seasons at least it won't be a long tease like Smallville. By then I'm hoping Black Canary and Speedy (Roy Harper, hopefully) are important parts of the show.

...Yes, I have a lot of high hopes. How often does Green Arrow get the spotlight? I'm at the height of my fanboyishness right now.

Didn't he call his sister "Speedy" at one point?

He did. I'm hoping that's more a coincidence and not forshadowing. That'd suck. I'm hoping she dies and his sidekick is someone who reminds him of her. Maybe Mia Dearden.

But hey, I've been okay with crazier changes in comic book adaptions. I mean I managed to watch Smallville for most of it's run.

Wow! I am very pleasantly surpised by this show. I thought it was very good and will continue to watch. I'm also glad they kept the flashbacks in this episode to a minimum as it allowed me to really get into the story. Again, very pleasantly surprised.

i liked the pilot a lot. I hope it stays away from really stupid villains, and doesnt have a new villain every damn episode like the Cape did lol.

A very promising show, keep up the batman-esque 'darker' approach. It's like Assassin's Creed, Batman, and a little Dexter all in one, I'm in.

i believe the flashbacks continue all season, revealing more and more... i think thats pretty cool.

Great pilot but man was this like Batman begins! I plan on watching it because I liked it but they relied heavily on Nolan's Batman for inspiration.

Yeah, but did you really expect any different?

I'm not really too concerned by it. It's the first chapter in a possibly 100+ episode series. Them playing the pilot that way is no big deal for me, because I doubt every episode will be as similar to BB as this one was.

Now, if this were a film, with only two/two and a half hours to tell the story, and really the only opportunity to tell the story for years at a time, and they were that heavily influenced by BB.... then yeah, that would be pretty lame.

i liked the pilot a lot. But I am confused how some one stuck on a island can learn parkour

With the positive buzz that the pilot receives, the next 7 episodes are going to be the show's test to see if it can sustain its audience like Smallville did for 10 years.

If there is to be a Speedy, I hope it's either Oliver's sister or Mia Dearden. I don't want it to be Roy Harper or it will look too much like Batman and Robin.

As of late, DC/ WB are putting out good stuff this year with Dark Knight Rises, Superman Vs. The Elite, Dark Knight Returns Part 1, Green Lantern Animated, Young Justice Invasion, DC Nation shorts, and now Arrow. It's a great time to be a DC Comics fan.

Did you miss the scene where the island was actually the location of the League of Shadows?:BA

I'm okay with the flashbacks. They were done pretty well and kept to a minimum. If it's like that for the rest of the episodes, I'll be fine with them in general.

Okay, so just so I'm clear. Laurel is supposed to be Dinah aka Black Canary?

Yes, she is. I was happy when Merlyn actually called her Dinah at the end. Her evolution and Huntress' appearance has me very excited.

I mean learn the skills in place has only mountains and trees is not the same as learning to use it for buildings

I'm more curious about his fighting skill. I guess he wrestled wild animals, maybe? Though you'd think all of this moves would be to kill at that point. His parkour skill I figure is easily applied no matter what environment he's in. Like throwing Tarzan into the city.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this pilot! I honestly thought it was going to be the typical CW trash, and I'm glad I was proven wrong.

What intrigues me the most is the potential of the backstory. It seems like they're not willing to shy completely from the origins of the character (although Starling City and Laurel Lance are just stupid changes). Deathstroke's mask was shown...I'm just going to assume that HE is the one who trains Ollie on the island, and it's that mystery that's going to keep me watching.

 was not the Island a pirate gang headquarters in Comics

i was/am hoping for a couple flashbacks of how he learned to fight... becoming a master at the bow isnt that simple either. and apparently the greatest hacker of all time... then again it is a tv show... just a little glimpse would be enough explanation for me.

i wish i could do pull ups like that.

It was but things change from the comics all the time so I'm trying REALLY hard to keep an open mind about things and just going episode by episode.

It's not the most traditional thing but man was it action packed. Really looking forward to Deathstroke,Huntress and Deadshot!

Has anyone watched the pilot numerous times since it aired and never got tired of it?
