saw that too, was wondering about that

Deathstroke will come into play in island flashbacks later on. I mean, who else put the mask there? He could show up in Ep4 flashbacks as a stunt guy had Deathstroke on his iMDB page for Arrow Ep 4 but was removed a little later.

liked the Pilot and Amell can tell Himself he Play Oliver Queen at much as he wants But he is not Oliver Queen now he's just Batman with a bow and arrow that Kills

Oliver Queen is a thrill-seeker With left-wing political viewpoints

Not yet, he's not. Gotta remember, Oliver started out a much different person then who he was after Queen Industries went under. It wasn't until after that when he learned how the middle and poor classes lived and changed his attitude. I'd say his road trip with Hal Jordan helped shape him too but I highly doubt that is happening on the show.

Writers like to retcon that he was always this thrill-seeking swashbuckler when really he started off as a Batman knockoff (Arrowplane and Arrowcave and all). Brave And The Bold acknowledged this so you can say this show is being just as accurate by doing the same. Ollie with PTSD is quite interesting to watch, anyway...Huh. I wonder if he'll ever end up in a monastery like the books.

I'm pretty excited for that. Bet Ollie is the reason he's missing an eye and he finds him again to exact his revenge. I'm expecting some pretty spectacular action and danger in this one.

I wonder if Natas will be involved and that explains Ollie's fighting skill. :yay:

oh Deathstroke if I can not get Grayson as nightwing on TV at least i will get one of his best enemies

Apparently Arrow scored a 1.1, which is good... For the CW. Hopefully the audience builds.

I quite liked it, even though it was a little too heavy on the Batman Begins plot points. I hope this series will keep delivering! Also, where's the forum? WW got one and that didnt even get to air :P

that's all? huh, was thinking it'll be higher since it's a new show and usually people check the pilot episode

But it's the CW. If the ratings hold around there, it's their biggest show besides Vampire Diaries easy.

This! It was almost word for word on some scenes. Not complaining because I did like it but I just can't see them sticking with no super powers for 5 seasons without it going south.

Yeah, but did you really expect any different?

I'm not really too concerned by it. It's the first chapter in a possibly 100+ episode series. Them playing the pilot that way is no big deal for me, because I doubt every episode will be as similar to BB as this one was.

Now, if this were a film, with only two/two and a half hours to tell the story, and really the only opportunity to tell the story for years at a time, and they were that heavily influenced by BB.... then yeah, that would be pretty lame.
I'm not complaining because I thought BB was the best of Nolan's Batman films. But it was like it was almost scene for scene from the movie. If that's the case, I'd love to see Arrow's "Joker" per say. :wow:

It got 3.88 Million In total viewers and 1.3 In Demo.Premiere was watched by total viewers more than any season 3 episode of the Vampire Diaires.Basiclly arrow Is the first real
success story for the CW since the Vampire Diaires premiered back In 2009.

In first half It tied NBC's animal practice In total viewers and narrowly beat It In the demo.Arrow Is the new smallville.Basiclly as long as the Cw exsists Arrow should be around for awhile.

I don't really agree with that. Dc has a bunch of villains that are grounded in reality. Arrow himself is just a human being. I think once they start bringing in some of the more ridiculous super powers it will go south. The characters and the story are what draw people in. Not a sonic scream from black canary that only 5 people on the internet care about.

one thing puzzles me if ARROW has a "no powers edict in place how can they have firestorm the nuclear man inthe show?
maybe people will forget about the control freak in the cape now

Thing is, to me, GA is always the most fun when he is going up against superpowered baddies. Because he's just a normal guy. That's why I always thought that SuperMax movie sounded awesome, but it never got made.

No man. This is CW. You know just as sure as the sky is blue, they will f this up. It's a wonder they haven't f-ed up Supernatural, even though they tried to get it cancelled numerous times. Why even call it Arrow? Why not just call it Robin Hood? He has more in common with him than GA honestly. GA is a bleeding liberal hippie who fights for the little man. But again, I'm not complaining because I did like the first episode but just don't understand why CW/WB always changes their characters instead of staying true to their roots. Marvel did well with Captain America and Thor, tweeking the characters but yet not coming off corny and going way off base. I just wish WB would do the same.

This! He's an underdog going up against bad guys that he should not be able to. Comic version of GA going up against comic book Deathstroke shouldn't stand a chance but he does and that's what draws you to the character. He also stood up against a space cowboy who has saved galaxies and other worlds because he was willing to lay it all out for green and purple beings but not for black and brown people on Earth. That's what Ollie is about. This Arrow seems more like the Punisher/Batman than he does GA. But again, I liked the first episode but IMHO it's far from perfect and I think they tried to be dark and gritty. But like this certain guy said on another website "This show isn't dark and gritty, it only thinks it is." And again, I like the episode but man did they deviate from the character.

It seems that most of you enjoyed it more than I did. I didn't hate it, but once it was over I was left with a "meh" feeling. I did enjoy the fight scenes. I also hate many of the changes. I don't mind something deviating from the source material, but things like Laurel instead of Dinah and Starling City instead of Star City is just unnecessary. I will definately be tuning in for the next couple of episodes though, as it does have plenty of potential.
