snyder is very big on attention to detail tho much more than nolan
That's on Nolan though. Snyder may or may not be more attentive when it comes to accent slips. Either way, Cavil's natural accent will most likely show itself if he has to shout his lines, because apparently it's incredibly hard to maintain a forged accent in a high voice.

Also the fact that she bothered to impersonate Katie Holmes. Doesn't matter if it was funny, just the fact that she did it....twice, even. (The first time on a talk show, the second time on SNL.)
Btw, while searching for videos, I found reports that mentioned that critics thought her award speech at the Golden Globes sounded fake, which can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUlldx3X60c

Yeah, I finally saw Cold Light of Day, and, like you're suggesting, Cavill faltered mostly when he had to shout his lines or convey strong emotion. Otherwise, his American accent wasn't too bad. To be honest, though, there was plenty of room for improvement.
What I don't get though is his American accent was fine in Hellraiser that he did way before CLOD, but I suppose there was a lot of time between those films so he might have been out of practice. Its quite funny that he sounded almost like he had a blocked nose in CLOD that's the only way I can describe it. What little I've heard of his Superman voice he sounds perfect so I'm assuming he's had some vocal training.

Let's not forget the director's role in all this. He's the one giving the ok after he has the shot, as well as when he chooses a shot during editing and he's also responsible for working things like these out with the actors.
Absolutely. A good or bad director can make all the difference in the world. I've seen great actors/actresses give mediocre performances on film due, in part, to poor direction.
Precisely. I'm sure Snyder will have taken proper care of this trait. Haven't seen CLOD yet, but it looks like a Straight-To-Video flick saved by Willis' name.

don't know about that snyder is very good with directing his actorsIt varies. Snyder is more detailed in the visuals department. Nolan, however, is more detailed in writing and acting department.

I question how detailed Nolan is on the acting side when he is fine with a take where Gary Oldman clearly breaks his American accent, or, the most incriminating, Talia's lame death. That was the best take Nolan could get, really?

Nah, his American accent sounds fine. Gotta keep in mind, garbage like The Cold Light of Day was the best thing he was getting offered and the dude had to eat.
I take more offense to Willis and Weaver doing it. Since they didn't need the money per say, but they could afford to be pickier. Took it and ran.
