Michael Keaton is the best live action Batman imo, hands down. Bale was good in Begins though.

I'm still waiting for a definite Batman portrayal though. With Superman we might end up having 2 fantastic portrayals, each definite for their time and each mirroring their comic book counterpart. I never felt so with any of the Batmen so far, no matter how much I love Keaton's portrayal. Something is always missing.

Well, it's not like he had a promising trajectory before SR. It did benefit him. It's just that he could have had even more if the franchise took off. Still, I think he's in a better position having done SR. Most people don't even lay any blame on him.
just that he didn't benefit fr SR much. i thought he could at least 1 or 2 lead role in some comedy romance movies.

Keaton is the best Batman. Bale is the best Bruce. We just have to combine them and Conroy into 1 being. :woot:

Oooh. Disagree. Bale's Batman was phenomenal. Intimidating, determined, skilled. None of which I can truly say about Keaton's

Cavill looks like he will be my Superman though. I guess we'll see.

Exactly! Keaton was great but Bale is the man. He also had the advantage of a richer and more well developed character to play with, an advantage I see Cavill having over Reeve.

I think Christian Bale was a fantastic Bruce. The only problems was the scripting. His love of Rachael and then emotional turmoil over her death, and the whole 'retirement'. Since that stuff very much informed and affected Bale's Bruce as a character. But his portrayal was great. He is definitely 'Batman' for me and will be for a while. WB should wait 5-6 years at least before rebooting (which of course they won't).

I only hope that Cavill's Superman will be just as good.

I'm hoping that Cavil is able to land some good roles following the potential success of this film since it was said by Cavil in his interview with Details Magazine that he hasn't starred in an film since he completed filming for MOS.

After seeing trailers and TV spots, Henry Cavill is already Superman. He give this character emotions, sensibility, more depth IMO and that's what I expected for a while. I'm sure he will play Superman as good as Bale played Batman, or better.

Man of Steel TV Spot #10 "You're scared of me because you can't control me."

His voice is perfect ,and transmites a lot of confidence.... Cavill+Super=Superman

Henry Cavill plays Superman in the upcoming blockbuster “Man Of Steel,” but in a new interview, the actor reveals that he didn’t always have the ripped body of a superhero.
As a child in boarding school, “I was fat. I was Fat Cavill,” he tells Details in its July issue, adding that he was also prone to homesickness. “I bawled on the phone to my mom four times a day. I became an easy target.”
To combat the loneliness, Cavill began acting in school plays and ultimately decided to study drama. At 17, he landed a role in a film adaptation of “The Count of Monte Cristo,” and “lost one and a half stone [21 pounds],” he says. “I wasn’t Fat Cavill anymore.”
Now, Cavill, who is 30 and dating former mixed martial artist Gina Carano, is a bit shy about revealing his weight (“It’s modesty. . . but I also don’t want to invite that debate: ‘Henry weighs this, so he’s the perfect Superman.’ Or, ‘Henry doesn’t weigh this, and therefore he’s not believable in the role,’” he explains). But it’s no secret that the Tabata workouts that his trainer Mark Twight used to prep him to play the Man of Steel were tough.
“Henry’s commitment was legendary,” says co-star Amy Adams. “He would get up to work out at three every morning so he’d look right in the suit. His discipline is extraordinary.”
“I was a lot bigger as Superman,” acknowledges Cavill, who began principal photography on the film two years ago. ” [But] I’m not eating 5,000 calories a day anymore!”

Lol yeah
I had forgotten he's good at comedy too :hehe:

^ Me too. As far as Keaton, I feel like he got underrated after the Nolan trilogy came out. I feel like Bale was elevated by material more powerful than him+ a strong supporting cast, while Keaton was upstaged by his foes. I feel like both actors had something to offer, but no movie Batman except West's really feels pulled from the pages. One could argue that Bale's is reminiscent of 1970s hot-blooded Batman, but Modern era Batman's evolved so much since then.

IF MOS turns out to be a game-changer, it will rub in how lucky Superman fans really are. They get to see their genre get celebrated, albeit belatedly, on the big screen, while Batman has yet to have a proper fantasy adaptation from the comics in live action.

And I'm not jealous because Batman's ruled the screen for over 20 years. Now is Superman's turn. And this film's legacy will dictate DC's future, whether we like it or not. :word:

HENRY CAVILL: MEET THE NEW SUPERMAN

THE 30-YEAR-OLD STAR OF MAN OF STEEL, IS JOBLESS, HAVING BIDED HIS TIME AS DIRECTOR ZACK SNYDER TOOK NEARLY TWO YEARS TO APPLY THE FINISHING TOUCHES TO HIS BLOCKBUSTER REBOOT. THE MOVIE COULD PROPEL THE RELATIVE UNKNOWN TO STARDOM FASTER THAN A SPEEDING BULLET—OR BE CAREER KRYPTONITE. STILL, IT'S UNCLEAR WHO MOST NEEDS TO BE SAVED BY SUPERMAN—CAVILL OR THE REST OF US?

Me too. I find it kind of strange that he hasn't starred in anything in two years! What is he waiting for?! :funny: Well, at least it looks like he's pretty much got the role that Tom Cruise dropped in Man from U.N.C.L.E. 'Bout time Henry!

His "Great Wall" movie got delayed. But 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' is pretty big news.

Heh, never heard of that project. Is 'Great Wall' a remake of the 1986 movie 'A Great Wall'?

No. This is the plot synopsis:

Set in 15th century China, The Great Wall is about British warriors [including, Henry Cavill and Benjamin Walker's characters] who happen upon the hurried construction of the massive wall. As night falls, the warriors realize that the haste in building the wall isn’t just to keep out the Mongols — there is something inhuman and more dangerous.

The delay was supposedly about the weather but I don't know when it is restarting. Ed Zwick dropped out as director.

All of you should just shuddup and enjoy da pretty. :argh:

:o

Yep that crooked nose sure is bothering the most ladies and some dudes. Not.

*coughinsecurecough*

You guys should be worrying about the crooked nose less and worry about his child-bearing hips. :o
