Henry Cavill IS Superman: - Part 4

Has anyone noticed Henry refers to it as the other character and not as Superman.
i believe he's just playing around. everyone knows what he's talking about but he doesn't want to keep saying "Superman"...

...but i HAVE noticed that anytime he's been asked about what he's read he mentions that he's read everything he can get his hands on. he even mentions Red Sun, Death of Superman and Return of Superman...but he didn't mention any of the origin comics.

here's a side by side comparison from when he did the ew magazine and comic con yesterday. i definitely see a difference. doesn't help with what he's wearing, but i do see a difference.

I've been iffy on Cavill's casting ever since he was a fanboy favorite all those moons ago, and I honestly felt he was still too boyish for the part.
A little while back I saw some more recent images that started to change my mind....and this just put me over the top.

I'm a true believer. That right there is Superman. Fanboy's...you were right, and I was wrong.

back 'then' it was a fair assessment.

Oh yeah I didnt think he was doing it for any specific reason just found it quite humurous

back when Ratner and McG were involved, he WAS too boyish. he's had time to mature and grow both mentally and physically so if there ever was a prime time for him to play Superman, it's NOW

Not necessarily. Years can certainly make the difference. Cavill obviously looks the part more-so now.

Cavill really does bring talent, charm, and a certain gravitas to the role that has been missing for a long time.

Do I wish he were taller, yes, but do I wish CR had more sex appeal, yes, do I wish BR had more talent, yes, or Welling actually cared, yes, or that Cain had more intensity, yes.

He looks great, and I have to wonder who came up with the large white shirt for him to wear, was in\t coincidence, or Warner's, or the production staff. Because people are now more intrigued than ever, to see what is behind it. Smart move on whomever's part.

Cavill really has charm, looks, sex appeal, and a certain "je ne sais quoi" working for him. Damn, poor Lois Lane having to look at him, and not be turned on, or driven crazy by his shear looks. I am hoping the movie plays with that scenario.

I can't wait, even though Warner's now says I must.

i'm equally as excited to see him as Clark Kent as i am seeing him as Superman. i mean, he said himself that he's 25 pounds heavier than he was in Immortals which was ALREADY an impressive physique and the fact they're able to hide that physique so well with just a regular dress shirt speaks volumes to how dramatic he should be able to portray the visual differences between Clark and Superman.

I can't get over just how likeable Henry is, and both he and Tarsem are extremely funny in the various interviews I have seen. BR is almost pretty boy-ish compared to Henry who just exudes a rugged manly quality. It would appear that, if he can pull off a decent American accent, (he has a very soft & neutral English accent which will help) he has a chance of being as good (who knows perhaps better) as CR. I'm excited about his reaction to the costume. When he said he's seen it and tried it on, then he says, "it's fantastic", It came off as totally genuine. It didn't seem like he was saying that, simply to please Snyder/WB's et al.

Well obviously yes, that's what has happened here...but the point is that the fanboy's saw potential in him that I did not see.

Anyone notice at 4:22 Cavill flexing his left pec?
omg, we've lowered ourselves into a new level of geekdom! hehe...don't worry i'm just as bad for actually verifying that he indeed flexes his left pec :oldrazz:

here's some idea of how he handles an American accent. keep in mind, it's basically his first time acting (this was before even Count of Monte Cristo) but if he can pull off an accent like this for his first job then i'm sure he'll be fine in this film. he's mostly silent until about 2:40 mark...

I'm very happy to say that my initial instincts about Cavill were accurate. He lacks only a few inches in height to be PERFECT for this.
How long I hoped he would get cast, and he frikkin DID. I was bouncing off the walls when the announcement was made. Only thing missing now is the suit, which Cavill referred to as "fantastic", so that does put me at ease, if only slightly.

Haha...kudos to whoever found that. Guy's gonna have the perfect build for the part.

I'm somewhat embarrassed I actually watched for this now.

Thanks. He seems fairly decent and, I'm sure they'll assign a dialect coach so chances are he'll pull it off with little to no problem. BTW he looked like Superboy in that clip. Thank God he was passed over until he was perfect for the role, which is now.

Cavill looks pretty tall to me (for the Superman role). He might even be closer to 6'2; and they can certainly make him look taller on film I would think.

His imdb profile says he's 6'1"....but everyone lies about their height in Hollywood....so it's kind of hard to know for sure.

some thick soles and a little thought into camera angles should minimize the problem though.

I guess. Like I said, he already seems pretty tall to me. I think he might be at least 2 inches taller than Christian Bale (Batman).

Feels good to know I'm not the only one who checked out his Laguna scenes. See his Red Riding Hood bits, people, they're hysterical.

I think his hair is definitely black, it looks much darker than usual. Just what I was hoping for

Damn, Cavill was made for Superman. Now I just wish they would release some art... if I knew what direction they were going in with the suit I could relax.
