I'm not a hardcore spidey fan, just a casual fan only. That said, I gotta say that as of now I prefer the look of the Raimi suit over the new one.

So do I. I'm not sure if it's bc the actor though. I never really liked Toby physically. A short stumpy guy didn't seem like spider-man. I always like him as lean and taller.

The Raimi suit is perfection.

I think the blue textured part of Garfield's costume is very interesting and would not necessarily look bad on the Classic Superman costume as one of the updates. It certainly has a 'kind of an alien look' that so many on these threads clamour for.

I so hope they hit a home run when they release the first image of cavill in the new theads.

I bet Superman will get the EW cover for his first shot. In a few weeks maybe?

I really can't understand why most of the fans didn't like Brandon Routh as Superman. He's not the best actor in the universe but you really don't need to be a Robert De Niro to play Clark Kent / Superman and Routh did it really well in my opinion.

Altough I never was a real fan of Superman, "SR" really convinced me and to be honest I love this movie and I'd really love to see a sequel with Brandon Routh as Superman. I think that Brandon Routh is the ideal guy for the role and when I think of Superman he is the person that I associate with that character.

But anyway: I'm really looking forward to see Henry Cavill as Superman. Let's see if he will be accepted by the fans who complained about "SR" ;)

I'm hoping snyder either releases one or one is ''leaked'' out.

He is already accepted even before the first shot of him as Supes is seen.

I think there are some important milestones. The first will be the first pic or shot in the suit. The second will be the teaser and the most important will be the day when the movie hits the theaters.

Can't wait to see the suit :)

Nuff said...

I really can't see the first shot of Superman being snuck out... they will make a big to-do about it, like all the new shots of Spidey. Best way to do that is a mag cover, so everyone sees it. Cover image of Superman with maybe some cast interviews inside on the beginning of shooting.

Brandon Routh was OK. He did his best with what he was given.

He had something that reminded me of comic Supes. I think his stern look. But the script dragged him down.

He was reduced to a mute as Superman. His Clark Kent was given nothing funny to do. It was the movie, not him.

I having a feeling they are going to want to release a pic before filming starts so there isn't crappy set pics of it floating around.

Snyder said in an interview a few months back that they were going to have to show the suit just before or at the start of filming.

22nd of July, people.
They've already said that TDKR and Man of Steel will not have a presence
at comic con. Unless you're talking about just a picture being released that could come at any time and doesn't have to be at comic con. They might show a picture at the con but I have no idea when it might be shown. There is no reason to think that it will be Friday though.

Spidey trailer, Cap'M 'Merica, AND first shot of Superman? That'd be too much... and by too much I mean awesome :D

I'd still bet on Superman getting the EW cover over some internet photo release. They DO come out on Fridays though..

What we see will be what we get. Redesigning the suit at that stage would require postponing filming.

I would think they would have at least two back up designed suits just in case the one they go with doesn't work out or is not well received.

The new Spider-Man suit doesn't look terrible but I'll take the one from the original movie any day of the week.

I hate to say things like this because it always sounds like you're suddenly hating on the old movies... but I like the new Spidey suit much more than the old one. Yeah, Raimi's suit was more comic accurate in the general design, but I never liked the raised silver webbing... the new suit looks more sleek and the colors are much brighter.

I think I'd be happy if we got the Superman equivalent.

If they were to change the costume design because of adverse fanboy reaction, then that would imply they have zero confidence in the film.
Such was the case with the recent stinker known as Green Lantern.

New Spidey suit looks awesome.
I think Nicholas Hammond's Spider-man suit was the best ever, and Garfield's reminds me of it.
Spider-man's costume is supposed to look over the top, and as if it was crafted in some teenager's bedroom (which it was!)

What I meant be "leaked" is WB intentionally leaking an image of it out a couple days before the big reveal to gauge fan reaction.
I would think they would kinda wanna know beforehand what that reaction will be.
