Pretty much tarnished the whole article.
Yeah. I was so
after that comment.Pretty much tarnished the whole article.
after that comment. Some parts of the music reminds me of "Tron: Legacy"
It's got a 80's vibe to it
I will definitely purchase whatever soundtrack that musical cue comes out on
Saw this in IMAX tonight...and it blew me away. I don't understand how this got a 73% approval rating, i think it's honestly Nolan's best film, and once again, demolishes the "cold" characters and "dark, super serious" side people seem to think Nolan can only conquer. Totally gonna check this out again soon.
t:I agree. People will lie, people will betray to protect themselves, but I think as a whole, humanity will rise above all of that to work it out. That's what the movie shows. Despite/Because of the elder Brand's lie (or because of how Dr. Mann confessed to it), they managed to get everything to work out anyway. Same with Murph breaking out of what Cooper had tried to do for her.Couldn't disagree more with his analysis. Just because the film presents one character who acts out of selfishness and weakness doesn't mean the film is trying to present a dim view of humanity. By that logic, any movie with an antagonist who acts that way could be said to be purporting the same message.
On the contrary, this is a deeply humanistic and optimistic film. Acknowledging the existence of the bad side of humanity does not negate the good side. He's right that Nolan's earlier movies have had more of a cynical outlook, but I think this trend has been very clearly reversing itself with his last few movies.
Yeah, the "ILLUMINATED STAR PROJECTION EDITION":

Two CDs; 28 tracks. Disc 1 is the regular OST, so Disc 2 must contain 12 tracks which probably contain the 6 tracks from the deluxe digital edition. That leaves another 6 tracks which, hopefully, the docking sequence track is part of (as well as Day One Dark I guess).
Me neither. I thought it was much better then gravity. I seriously think it is a conspiracy at this point.
At least we have the RT audience score at 87%t:
I understand that Chris Nolan could direct a Tom and Jerry cartoon and a certain section of the public would tell me it was the best thing they have ever scene. However the love for this movie particularly in its IMDB score is ridiculous and just tells me how stupid fanboys have become towards the British director.

The deluxe edition is a disappointment. Most of the tracks are variations on what is in the standard version. 'Imperfect Lock' is not the docking music. It only contains parts of it as with 'Day One Dark' and 'coward', but not the whole piece. The docking music is as of yet unreleased. I would recommend saving your money. The standard version is fine enough as it is.
It almost looks like they did it on purpose leaving the docking music out. Jackasses.
Hans: "We are going to give it away for free...We are just waiting on some additional clearances. But the record company is totally into it. Plus, they are working really hard to make the "Lightbox" available everywhere. It's quite complicated."
Give it away..that particular song ?
Went to the IMAX on opening weekend to see this.. Full of excitement.. Only slightly dampened by the 'ok' reviews. Still had faith I was in for an incredible experience.
First 40mins were far too slow, and too long. For a director that always needs or wants to throw exposition down your throat the first act had none. Nothing was really explained to make the threat to the earth either credible or even just make sense. The Indian drone scene was completely unneeded. Character development was pretty much none-existent, there was no real connection made between the audience and the characters we were watching on screen. For such a long winded first act, we seemed to be jettisoned into space so quickly without any of it even coming close to being believable. (Character behaviours etc)
Space Opera : finally in space now it's time for the 'wow' factor I've been waiting for... Well the scenes in space were either deadly silent (pretentiously or in a homage to Kubrick type way) or extremely LOUD. In fact the whole score was too loud.. It actually took you away from the movie, as at times dialogue was completely over-powered by it. Gravity had far better visuals, and a far better score. So it wasn't ground breaking effects I was seeing, far from it.
Concept : Far too many plot-holes, I won't even go into the mess that was the final act. (There ain't enough 'ironically' time in the day to even go into it)

However the love for this movie particularly in its IMDB score is ridiculous and just tells me how stupid fanboys have become towards the British director. 11th movies of all-time (currently), 9/10??? Are we having a laugh here.. No matter how well made the movie was (which it was) it wasn't particularly entertaining. It's just 'cool' to like Nolan's high intellect movies now, even Inception isn't a re-watchable classic, or nearly as good as it thinks it is, or as some will make you believe. For the record I loved Inception.
Interstellar was overly bloated, extremely self indulgent, full of the unexplainable (that's after paragraphs of exposition in the script) slow, too long, too loud, too much of a 'I want to be 2001' and just not fun or particularly entertaining.
I do appreciate the quality of the production, the direction at times was extremely good, but Nolan's last two movies have now been 'below par' IMO. I will still go and see his next feature with anticipation, however I'm no longer buying into the hype that surrounds this film-maker.
FYI all movies are overrated on IMDB when new. Guardians of the Galaxy abd Days of Future Past were both in the top ten movies of all time.
Thanks for bringing that to my attention. No the real reason for IMDB's over-inflated ratings is because of the hidden agenda. Like how Box Office takings have almost become like a Sunday afternoon sports result. There are people out there that will go see a movie several times to try and help the BO result (extreme and sad cases don't get me wrong but it happens) Ratings have become the same...
A high rating now is similar, fans of Marvel what to go on and rate the movie high (fanboys), similarly DC. So you get a very disingenuous review from many many posters. There aren't enough genuine reviewers to actually get a grounded rating with certain movies. (I.E. Rate the movie in good faith, they don't rate it so it gets a score high)
Now a film were there is no real agenda (for example only.. The Equalizer) that will get a genuine score, cos only people genuinely interested in rating it on merit will....
Nolan is like DC or Marvel... There are soooo many people that feel they need to go on and rate their 'genius' fav director a 10... They are subjective rather than objective...
Interstellar is of course an absolute gem of an example of this... Hence word of mouth is always the best viewpoint cos you get a genuine cross section usually. Or (don't hate me) but critics are still usually the best source of getting a good feel of how good or bad a movie is... The critics got Interstellar right.. It's good, but not great...
I've rated many Nolan movies on IMDB.
Interstellar is the only movie to which I gave a 10/10. I'm sorry you didn't like it, but for me it's what I've wanted to see for fifteen years: a hard scifi blockbuster space opera, with the material taken seriously. After years of sitting through Star Wars Prequels, Star Trek, Species III, Green Lantern, Ender's Game, and Guardians of the Galaxy this was a ****ing release.
It's even more specific than that. In the past few years I've argued in several places that rotating black holes should be used as a plot device![]()
Very cool. Hopefully this is of a decent length. But then again, anything is a bonus.Christopher Nolan has written a comic for Dr. Mann's backstory, to be featured in his issue of WIRED:
This is exciting!
