The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Jamie Foxx IS Electro - Part 4

Exactly...whom have intelligence, streetwise, and connections...that's already a bad dude, as oppose to an upright, successful citizen that is forced to become bad, because of an unfortunate accident that turns him into something unacceptable to the human race.

God forbid if we ever get a villain in the spidey franchise who is straight up a bad criminal and closer to the source material.

I don't really have an issue with the look all that much, but they could have perhaps avoided the gap in the front teeth or the combover. They could have toned it down a bit I suppose.
You, at one point was cool with that stereotype, and showed support and defended the characterization. Now I understand one can have a change of heart, and glad to see your dislike for that, a little; but, many of us thought from the beginning, this was bad characterization, on the level of Raimi's HarryGobln, MJ, Sandman, and Brock(in Brock case, bad casting as well).

I'm don't actually hate it, and I still enjoy what I've seen of Max Dillon from all the trailers. But there are a few things that I think could have been done differently. Maybe my opinion will change once I see it in the context of the movie, but I don't actually think he is a bad character based on what I know at this moment.

Eddie Brock was better than he ever was in the comics, IMO. So far, he's the only truly evil person in all 5 Spider-Man films.

Yeah, I agree. I think the character of Eddie and Topher get too much unnecessary flack. I think he did well in the role. Except of course for the normal voice when in Venom mode and I'd like him to have more screen time but those are the director's faults, not the actor's. That scene when he enters the church and kneels down in pain while the symbiotie is taking over his body is pure magic.

Absolutely agreed 100%. Blame ADR for the voice, and lack of screentime on script. There were some good Eddie scenes that got cut, but SONY refuses to release them. :cmad:

The Birth of Venom was fantastic.

There was supposed to be a scene where Eddie goes to Gwen's house and she basically tells him off. You can still read it in the official novelization.

Do you think there is a chance we'll ever get a director's cut within the next 20 years? Perhaps Raimi will pull a Richard Donner and give us the movie we deserved. :(

They actually filmed that scene, there's set photos and everything. It really gives off Eddie's "insanity" vibe, thinking they were in love with each other and that Peter really screwed him over when he did nothing wrong. I'd love to see either an extended cut, or for them to release the deleted footage. I don't know why it's so hard for them to do that, but they can easily re-release them on bluray with ugly ass covers.:o

Didn't he already let it slip that Electro wouldn't die? Saying in interviews like "Electricity never disappears. It just goes somewhere else." Or something similar. I don't know the direct quote. I really hope he comes back. While his Max was way too goofy, I thought his Electro was really menacing. I definitely want him back.

I've no idea. I said "assuming he returns..." but you never know. He could come back and if Arad/Sony really pursue him like they pursued Webb, there's a good chance. Did Electro really die though?? "Electricity never dies, it just goes to a different place" or something to that effect, as quoted by Foxx.

Interesting, Foxx just doesnt seem the sequel type, and his motivation for doing the movie never made me think he would be back for more. I hope he does come back as he is a good actor. But if he does, I hope he is more like he was in the 2nd half of the movie.

Wouldn't be surprised if he does these Movies solely for his daughter.

That was his motivation for doing TASM 2, and it didnt strike as a reason to come back, but if he does, thats a good thing, just hope they give him better material.

He has two daughters. He's likely doing this for his younger one (who's four) and not his older one (who's 20).

Wait what about his motivation for the role makes you think he wouldn't wanna be back?

Judging by press, Foxx also seemed to have a blast in the role. Hopefully if he returns, he's more Django than Nygm- I mean, Max.

he already said he will come back as part of something bigger, and it's seems he enjoying working with this crew :yay:

lol. Well his character Django was a straight-up bad ass, so yeah, I want that type of front for Electro. :woot:

I confess it bugs me when actors say they're taking on a more fantasy based role "for their kids". Some of the more "family friendly" stuff these days is written with some pretty meaty roles, though it varies.

I wonder which actor they used for this concept art :) if any, I mean
He does kinda look like Ryan Gosling or even Ben Foster

Really like the yellow going through that suit. Wish they kept that.

A bit Tron-ish. No better or worse than what we got imo. I expect people would have been knocking it for the Tron factor in a similar fashion people knock the one we got for the little thunderbolts. Six and half a dozen I think.

Yeah, I agree. Although I like the simplicity of it, the lines don't look that good and I would prefer if it was camo green instead of black.

I'm happy with the Electro we got. If we'd get the Sinister Six, all true to their comic design, we'd have way too many green members on the team.

Every team in sports has a distinct color in their suits. :o
There's nothing wrong with them being green for the most part.

Then I demand green jerseys, numbered 1-6, with the Sinister Six logo.
