Man, i'm so torn up about First Class. I don't want it to be good, because that would just be torture. Fox would be like the abusive, alcoholic father who beats you 51 weeks in the year, then takes you to Disney Land on your birthday.

I loved the first two X-Films, but since X3 and Wolverine, I just want Marvel to get the rights back. Wolverine burnt me so bad... I couldn't handle it again.

It's fine, because it still looks terrible. I don't think it's a coincidence that Matt Vaughn's last two movies end with "ass."

Anyhow, Nolan + Matt Damon = I want it.

Maybe it's b/c JGL is out of the country and is verbally committed to DKR, but hasn't signed anything yet. BUT, in this day and age, you can always FedDEX or fax it..

Or maybe the role is a lot bigger than what we thought it would be, and Nolan wants to surprise us.

Probably for the same reason we haven't heard who Marion is playing. Once we find out they are playing Alberto and Talia we will truly know the direction of this film and they just don't want that revealed yet. If they weren't playing Alberto and Talia what would be the point in keeping it secret for this long?

I will be shocked if we find out they are not playing those characters. And I know EW claimed that JGL is not Alberto. I don't buy it. WB has been flat out lying a lot lately. They denied Chris' involvement with Superman, Snyder denied Zod was in Superman and now we have EW denying the claim(by a Variety writer I believe) that JGL is Alberto.

I've heard the same thing. But I thought Heath was up for the role of Cobb rather than Arthur.

Oh no, there were quite a few before Heath Ledger; there was Brody, Lachy Hulme, Paul Bettany, and Robin Williams. There was a talk or too of it being Steve Carell briefly, but that one didn't last too long. And I'm sure there were others as well, but I just can't think of any.

I think Sean Penn is just a rumor, not a fact. I could be wrong, but I don't remember Penn ever coming forward and saying that this happened. Brody did though. I think the Sean Penn deal was just IMDB and messageboard rumor.

I'm sure, Franco's been in multiple action films, I think Nolan and Co. were surprised with JGL in part due to the fact that he hadnt been involved in a big budget action film requiring him to do stunts.

Not likely. JGL's been in shape physically for quite a few of his roles, even though they weren't action movies. I irrationally hate James Franco though so not having him in Inception is a godsend.

i dont know where i saw it.. but in an interview nolan said there was no casting whatsoever... and he talked basically only to ledger long before the script was around..
